| is it safe for yorkies to sleep under the covers? Our yorkie is 18 wks old. She seems to like to "burrow" under the blankets on our bed at night. It's kind of cute to see her go under all those covers but I don't think she would get enough oxygen. Any thoughts on this? Can she stay there or not? Did your yorkies survive such a thing (and without brain damage from lack of fresh air)? (Edit: She is about 5 lbs. now.) Thanks y'all. |

| I don't know and I wonder the same thing. Abbie likes to sleep under the covers and because of the cold weather we have alot of covers on our bed. I don't let her sleep with us all night for that very reason. She gets to cuddle before bed and when I let her outside around 6:30 I put her in bed to warm up for about 45 minutes. I've talked to my mom about this and she said her chi has slept under the covers down by their feet for many years. It worries me to much. Reesie sleeps with us, but she is grown and lays on top of the covers.

| lexi doest the same thing and im not gonna worry about it now..ive had no problem with her so far.. i think she would know if there wasnt enough air and she would come to the top.. when she does cuddle i make sure there is enough air at the opening for her.. at least there is some air going in.

| Thanks, very comforting. It's funny to hear of other pups wanting to sleep under the covers, not just mine. I do know I couldn't sleep with my nose under the blankets, they're pretty heavy. I get so cold that I burrow too, everything except for my nose. Love my ears covered! |

| Rocky loves to sleep under the covers when he's cold. I have a separeate blanket for him right next to me and usually wrap his body up in that when he goes to sleep. If I don't, he tries to lay underneith me, and I don't want to squish him. I put the comforter over him, but very loosely so he has room to breath, and when he gets hot he usually goes on top of the covers. As long as her face isn't snuggled in the covers she should be fine

| All of mine love to snuggle under the covers. When it is warm they will sleep on top. My hubby moves a lot in bed and I worry about him squishing a pup but nothing has ever happened. They are usually surrounding me in the morning.

| Jaden loves to burrow underneath the covers, I sleep in a big Queen sized bed at home and have a feather blanket on top and sometimes I will wake up and I can't find him because he has burrowed so far down into the covers. When I do find him, he's sleeping on his back underneath the covers and will look at me like what? I'm comfy here! |

| I think its fine. Izzy sleeps under the covers all the time. When I brought him home the first time, he would bury his face in the pillows on the couch and fall asleep. (see pic) I wondered about it myself but he seems to come up from under them during the night and he is fine. He will snuggle up right next to me under the covers...its so cute!

| My Harvey Also Likes To Sleep Covered Up. When He Sleeps On Your Knee We Often Throw A Fleecy Blanket Over Him And He Loves To Snuggle. Sometimes He Pokes His Head Out And I Wrap Him Up Like A Baby And He Snooooooozes For Hours - Never Mind If I Am Comfy Or Not!!!!!!!!!!! If He Get Too Hot He Comes Out, So I Think You Should Be Ok.
