| Lil Bit worked 3rd shift last night...... Howdy folks.....I have been away for a awhile but have finally gotten back into YT and can't believe all the action I have missed!!!! I have a new job....working as RN at a new 'Hospice House' in the Upstate of SC. Since the facility is new we (the nurses) are all taking turns at working night shift (7p - 7a) until all the staff is hired. I am actually a little too old to be doing the 'night shift' thing but have actually enjoyed it alot more than I anticipated. Well, to make a long story short......a girl I work with is wanting a yorkie and we spend alot of time talking about Lil Bit and Apple (chi)....so last night, after the first shift folks got gone and things were quiet I called my hubby and asked him to bring Lil Bit to work and leave her here for the night.... He brought a couple of pee pads, some food, a bowl for water and a collar and leash (she was 'off leash' all night) and she spent the night with us. The magical part of the whole experience was how the patients (especially one) just lit up and smiled and talked to Lil Bit and rubbed her....of course Lil Bit got soooooooo excited because so many people loved her and wanted to pet her that she "piddled" and little trail on the blanket....... I know we have "pet therapy" here as a service....but they are only here occasionally and NEVER at night when so many of the doubts and fears come to the surface .........I wish I could somehow get Lil Bit calmed down enough to get certified as a therapy dog.......I can only think the "piddling" would be considered a major issue!!!!! Anyway, Lil Bit was so happy all night long that she rarely slept...if she did fall asleep she would wake up and follow us down the hall anytime we went to attend to patient needs..... Poor thing was exhausted by the time by hubby came back @ 6:15am to pick her up....and she slept like a "log" all day!!!!! Just a great experience........will probably try it again one night soon.... Hope you all are having a great night...sleeping well..I'm working!! |

| I think that is so wonderful for you and the patients! She just needs a pretty pair of panties (a diaper) for when she's visiting |

| i think that is wonderful that you took her with you. Our hospice house has a dog there 24/7. Such comfort to the patient and families. He is so good to the children that come in and stays in the play area where most of the kids stay. |

| What a wonderful thing to do!! Good job, Lil Bit! It's amazing, the effect these little ones have on people. Before my Mom died, even if she was having a horrible day, when Toto came in the room she lit up and her demeanor immediately changed! Thanks for sharing your baby with your patients!
