| Prices? I am wondering why the prices of these dogs are getting so high? Its getting ridiculas when you want to buy a dog and its under a limited spay neuter contract and the price is 8500 dollars? I can understand if it is show quality and you will be able to show and you can also stud or breed that dog for pay back. Most and I mean most probably 90% are being sold as pets. The good breeders are their own enemies with the way all the BRB and puppy mill are able to make alot of money and sell these dogs for a jacked up price because they know they can get it. I am sure I will get pounded for saying this but it is getting ridiculas!!!!!

| No pounding from me...I feel the same way! I would love to have a little female, for a pet only, but I'm just not going to pay what breeders are asking for them. I have 2 small boys, AKC with full breeding rights and I didn't pay anywhere near what some are asking for a small female...I know females generally cost more but come on...it is getting a bit out of hand. |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I think those places are specifically breeding for tinies (wrong IMO) and they are trying to recoup their losses they must have in lost puppies and Mom's and small litters. I personally do not mind paying 2000.00 for a healthy, well bred puppy from a reputable breeder that will be within the standard, but much over that they are crazy!

| I dont mind paying the price either, but dont tell me I cant breed or stud them, for a "standard puppy." And in my opinion with the yorkie beith #2 on the list it will get worse.

| I live near you and have not seen anyone selling for those kind of high prices -- only on the internet and sometimes I think they just price a couple that high that they do not intend to sell (or will sell to some celebrity for the advertising value) and then they figure it will make their other "inflated but lower" prices look good. If you are looking for a puppy in the area, I can probably refer a couple of breeders that are selling standard pups for $1500-$1800 with full registration.

| Prices Hi everyone, I totally agree with Boo Monster. These breeders started somewhere themselves. There are many things I could say about this subject, but I prefer to come on here and enjoy and learn from this forum. I have learned so much, but I also paid plenty for my yorkies and I love them dearly. They don't look like what I was shown and that's okay because I have fallen in love with them anyway. Boo Monster I do agree with you. I think the prices are outrageous also. Please don't slam me because I won't reply. Like I said, I love this forum and want no hard feeling from anyone. God Bless, Mollymae and Abbi's Mom. |

| $1500 to $2000 is a good price for quality yorkie. When I got mine I paid the lower prices and ended up with one over the standard and cotton coat. You get what you pay for. Next time I am paying for quality

| i agree that anything over two thousand is a little much. especially without rights. On the other hand, people ask about mine. They are high quality yet people have the audacity to ask me to lower the price or just say, thank you when they inquire. And that's all right. But as Cachi posted, you generally get what you pay for. |

| When I was looking for my little female I had checked on quite a few. I hate to admit this but I did become extremely rude to one lady I spoke with. The Yorkie was a few thousand dollars, already 4 mos. old and she stated she would have her fixed before selling her. This wasn't tiny. She was estimating full grown wt. at 5 lbs. I told her that for a few thousand dollars I should be able to eat the dog for dinner if I wanted to. I know, bad, bad, bad. But I couldn't believe that she was wanting that kind of money and then going to tell me that never sells her dogs for breeding. |
