| Adult wt? Growth stops when? I recently got a Yorkie fem. for X-mas. Bottom line I was scammed, she is from a puppy mill. But slowly coming around. Learning to love her little butt. A friend has a lady at work who wants to sell her male. She is going through a divorce, thus working longer hours than normal. Stressed out, etc. I talked briefly with this lady today at work (she is going to call me back tonight at home). She stated she got the dog from a breeder in Iowa (went in person to get). He was 12 wks. old. He is now 5 mos. old and weighs a little over 3 lbs. Healthy, happy, and she believes AKC reg. but she just talked with the breeder last month as she hadn't rec'd the papers yet. My question is this. I would like to some day breed my little female (a litter a year). Don't I want the stud to be really small? Also, how do I know what good points to look for. It does seem my little female is long (even though she is tiny). And, still, at 6 mos. has hardly any hair. I see pictures of such pretty Yorkies and that is def. not my female. Will that come later? |

| dogs stop growing at varied rates. My little stud hasn't grown any since seven months but I have some on here that grow past a year. yes, you do want your male to be smaller than your female. At least not larger. Go to the AKC.org site and study the traits for standard yorkies. See if your dogs fit that profile. If they do you have good breeding dogs. Good luck with the new dog. |

| Any ideas why my little girl has no hair? I will try and take some pics to post. She isn't bald by any means, just no long, fluffy coat like I see in all the pictures. Her back is real short. When does it start growing? A few wild hairs on her head but that's about it. LOL. I don't want to breed her if she is a little freak (meaning that in a loving way of course). |

| She is such a cutie!! No hair and all. Bet she'll start growing a nice coat once she's on a regular good quality food. Mine eat Chicken Soup for the Puppy (or Adult) lovers soul and love it. |

| Never heard of it. I feed all my dogs IAMS. She eats the IAMS tiny bites. In the morning I give her a teaspoon of IAMS puppy canned food for a treat. Where do you get Chicken lover food from? |

| missing link? Sounds like a game show. LOL. I did find the website for Chicken Soup for the Puppy Lover. There is a close dealer so I can get my hands on that. Should I just do a web search on Missing Link? Glad to hear that her hair still might stand a chance. Like I said, she has so little of it. Not bald, just hairless. She has no hair on her legs or her back. None. Of course the breeder stated she feeds her puppy mill nothing but the best. |

| I used to feed my baby Iams too. And thought I was being a "good mom". However, this site educated me that it isn't what is considered "a good quality food." If you do a search on dog food you will find that there are a variety of foods that most use.

| Missing link is available at pet smart. Start feeding in small amounts. . .If you get it at petsmart (1/2 lb) print the price from on-line, it is less than what they charge in the stores. http://www.petsmart.com/global/produ...ssing+link&N=2
