| Oppinions Needed. What do you guys think of this little guy? Hi. I need honest oppinions. What do you guys think of this little guy? I'm green with what a good quality Yorkie should look like, but this little guy has been tugging at my heart. I do however, this time around, since this will be our last, would like to get a little guy that will grow into what a good bred Yorkie should look like. I love my Three Yorkies but they were rescues and were not from good breeding stock. I know it shouldn't matter and what they look like doesn't matter to me, I wouldn't trade them for anything, but this time around I really would like one that is what Yorkie should be. We just got Tia our Morkie out of a classified ad and love her to death. She is beautiful and we didn't plan on another but this guy has been like I said tugging at me. My Newman is ten and he's been really sick with genetic problems. I know we don't have long with him, and I'm not trying to replace him but we had planned if something happened to him to get another little male. Your oppions good or bad would be greatly appreciated. He is 14 weeks old and he weighs in at 2 pounds 11 oz. Thanks Elaine |

| I'm no judge of quality and it's hard to tell from a picture. How well do you know the breeder. Have you seen the parents. I believe looking at the parents is probably the best way to tell. If you trust the breweder they should be able to tell you. Expect to pay more for one. this one sure is a cutie though, I can see where he would steal your heart. |

| It's almost impossible to tell from a picture. Where is he coming from and what lines is he out of? Have you seen a pedigree? All Yorkie puppies are cute!

| I agree that it is very hard to tell. I can understanding you wanting what your heart is set on. I was so scared picking out a pup because I have seen some yorkies that didn't really look like they were well bred and I was scared of that. but, I fell in love with Maggie. Luckily, I found a great one and I think she will be all that I had my heart set on. As others have mentioned, it is hard to tell from pictures but I think he looks great. Another thing you can do is look on here for threads people have posted of their pups and what they look like now. the "then and now" threads. because you can see the beautiful yorkies and what they looked like as pups. I did that just so I could try and figure out what colors my maggie will have, since she has so many colors right now. It really helped me, I think :P good luck!! please let us know what you decide. I will say, if he is tugging on your heart like you say, he could be "the one". My cocker was FAR from what I was looking for. I have never been able to stand cockers but I met her on accident one day and fell in love. she is 6 years old now and the light of my life. she has been the best dog ever. I have gone out and chosen dogs in the past that i thought "looked" like what I wanted and it was a nightmare. so, I am just cautious now. and make sure that I go with my heart. I really do wish you the best of luck. sounds to me like you are being careful and not jumping into anything without researching and that is a very good thing. Please keep us posted. and more pics of your new pup would be great. oh..one more thing...have you picked out a name?? that could be the catch too LOL

| Hi guys. Thanks for your oppinions. Yes, his legs are that short. LOL. My son thought he was lying down too. Ha ha. Hubby and I took a ride on Saturday, to see him in person and he looks just like his picture. He walks very regal. His tail straight up and almost prances when he walks. He doesn't seem too interested in sitting on the lap, more interested in just prancing around and being nosy. He really is adorable. I think the two biggest things that are holding me back are 1. I feel as if I'm almost trying to replace my Newman before he's even gone and 2. The little guy is from Brazil and being sold by a broker which is against my beliefs. The only thing I can say with regard to this is that this particular person has had a lot of good reccomendations and my Tia originally came from this lady. The woman bought her then decided she didn't want her, so she listed her in the classifieds. Tia is healthy, very regal and beautiful. When visiting this little guy, the woman appeared to take very good care of the pups. All looked healthy, clean and well cared for. I'm still trying to think it out more and really do appreciate all of your oppinions. It's hard decision for me. I don't want to buy and seem like a hypocrite as I've always preeched against buying from petstores, brokers etc. Thanks again. Elaine |

| I think he is as cute as a button but do agree he seems to have very short legs. I might tend to be a little wary of the broker thing though but you never know. Good luck with what ever you decide. |

| Is he from TopKnotch Yorkies? I live near there and have seen yorkies from that broker many times. They always seem very friendly and healthy. They make good pets but a lot of the ones I've seen are pretty far from the standard. |

| Hey Rox. Yes. He is from TopNotch. Tia (In my avatar) was originally from there. A woman bought her and decided she didn't want her and placed her in the local classified section. Tia is beautiful and very healthy. Susan, was good enough to supply me with info. on Tia that the woman I bought her from did not have or didn't want to give. Hubby and I visited TopNotch this past Saturday. Really for the purpose of seeing Ford, that's his name. I do agree though. I wasn't really impressed with the others. I don't know maybe I just got really lucky with Tia. Her other Morkies did not compare to Tia. Ford looked for handsome in person though. His tail stood straight up, his ears right up and he just kind of pranced when he walked. His legs are short, but his body fits them if you know what I mean. Elaine |

| If you do decide on adopting him, make sure you have a contract that states he has been Vet. checked, bile acid tested, and the papers from the Vet. for proof. Call that Vet. too and find out. Personally I would NOT buy from a broker. This is something we have been fighting against for years and years.....shutting down puppy mills. They are the reason Vets. are getting rich and shelters are always full. |
