| Jaxson Fell?/jumped? Into The Pool!!! Last night I was over my mom's house and I went out to the patio/pool to walk around and give Jaxson some fresh air...welll as I was going around the pool and I saw that he was following me, so I kept walking and the next thing I know I heard a "PLOOP" and I turn around and he is doggy paddling like HELL!!! I screamed bloody murder and ran to the edge and snatched him out and went running through the house with a wet wide eyed dog screaming like crazy(me)!!!! I immediately took him and shoved him under the bath tub faucet to rinse him off because the pool was a little green from rain and hadn't been shocked yet. All I could think of was he was germy and might get some kinda infection!! My mom came running in the bathroom screaming because she thought he drowned! I gave him a bath with some Suave Rasberry shampoo she had. I thought I was gonna die. All I could think of is what if I hadn't heard him ploop in the pool of somthing??? Apparently he can swim though! He seems fine, you think he might get sick? I told my mom he probably thought the pool was grass and thought he could walk across it since he'd never been around it yet since he is only 4 months. |

| It was a good thing for sure that you saw him go in the pool for sure, sounds like mommy was more scared than he was I am so glad that he was ok though, as for him getting sick, we'll bump this up and see if anyone else can lend some advice.

| Awwwwwwww Jaxson wanted to go for an evening swim Yorkies are quite the swimmers but I would have been so scared too. I think he will be just fine, if anything maybe a little itchy but since you washed him right away I think it will be ok. Is he acting normal today? And are you okay? |

| Yeah I was REALLY freaked out, cause I didn't see him jump in or fall in I just her the PLOOP. He's only 2.7lbs so he doesn't make a splash!!!! Sounded more like a quarter going in! |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | What a scare. When it's warmer, you might try putting him in the pool and then teaching him the way to the steps so he can get out himself. They recommend this to prevent drowning in pets. While they are good swimmers they do get exhausted easily, and being so small he might not be noticed soon enough.

Yep, the first night we had Izzy, she fell into the pool Luna has fallen in as well, just last week, had to be like her big sister Thank goodness that I NEVER leave the girls out there alone. It's too cool to swim right now, but we'll be teaching them where the steps are. But we still won't leave them out there, because who's to say that they'll be able to find the steps in full-panic mode? I'm so glad that Jaxson is okay, whew! I know how you feel, it's so scary!!!!!

| Yeah mommy needed a nerve pill after that. I had no idea he would go into the pool, as much as he hates getting in the tub for a bath!! Maybe I should start bathing him in the pool |

| I am sure Jackson will be fine. It is a good thing you heard him fall in. Bet he was quite shocked too!! It reminds me of Scamper's swimming lesson, lol. I took Scampers with me over to Linda's to see Destiny (Charity). It was in summer so it was quite warm. Linda has a pool and she teaches all of her dogs to swim to the stairs and climb out. So I let Scamp off his leash and said to him "now don't go falling into the pool!" He has never seen a pool much less ever swam in one. So Scampers was playing with the other yorkies and in no time, the next thing you know he falls into the pool!! I didn't see it either, I heard a big plop and there he was all wet and swimming. He was quite the little swimmer!! I grabbed him by his harness and pulled him out right away. It scared me a bit but I had to laugh when he was cautious about getting too close to the pool after that, lol. I am glad Jackson is fine, I am sure he will always remember his little swimming experience!!
