I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Can a Yorkie know what day it is? Every Tuesday my two grown sons come over for dinner, and for the past month they have bringing their dogs too. We had to reschedule this week and tonight Joey keeps running to the gate as if expecting someone. Is it possible that he could know what day of the week it is? He's 5 1/2 months old. Currently, he is just sitting by the gate; I feel so bad for him. Thanks. Nancy |

| i really dont' know... but i know layla knows routine... she knows that when my mom watches her at work... she knows they go outside first thing and she know where she has left her "big stick" from the day before.. at home.. when it is just her and me, arouynd 5ish.. she sits on the steps waiting for grandma and grandpa to come home.. it's so werid.. she just knows... so i don't have an answer to your question.. but i think yes. |

| I'd guess yes also. Howie knows when mommy is leaving for work and that Monday night is puppy class. Haha I agree with the post above.. maybe it's time for yorkie #2!!! LOL.

| I say yes too. My two get an egg every Sunday morning. And without fail, the first thing they do on Sunday mornings is sit at the stove and look up and wait. They don't do that any other day of the week.

Oh, my lap is just not big enough yet. Lol Poor little thing, seemed so depressed last night. His friends are coming tonight; I'm so excited for him. I've read about pets knowing it's the weekend, but this just seemed so weird. Nancy | |

| I know dogs can sure tell time. My older son took the bus each day to school and when it was time for them to come home our dachshund would be waiting at the window. Long before we could hear the bus, she was at the door. The first day he had practice after school, she went crazy because he did not get off the bus. She kept coming to us and jumping on us trying her best to tell us that daggone school bus had not spit out her kid today. She was a nervous wreck until we went to pick him up. I am not surprised that they can also tell the time of week .... they are so much smarter than I ever thought possible.

| GiGi knows what time it is too. Monday thru Friday at exactly 4:45 she runs into the foyer at work to let me know that it is time to start locking up to go home! She also starts looking for her daddy's car to come home out the window at 5:45. |

| I was watching a show on animal planet about animals and their "internal clocks" it was so cute but anyway, what i got from it...is it's instinct just like bears know when to gather food and go hibernate, they said all animals have this, even dogs, especially if you have a regular routine

| I agree with everyone. Wookie seems to know when it's the weekend. M-F you can tell hes all sad for me to leave to work when we wake up. But on the weekends he's mr happy couch potatoe with us all day. You know what else... I wake up m-f at 6:30am. And of course so does wookie. So now no matter what time he goes to bed he wakes me up. He's my alarm clock But it sure sucks on the weekends. He still wakes me up at 6:30am, but he gets to sleep in bed with mommy after that, so he gets a weekend treat |

| My husband always tells me that when it's almost time for me to come home from work, Ginger always sits on the stairs and watch the door for me to come in. |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Well, we got our company last night and one of the dogs came in the early afternoon. I know several of you suggested a second dog, but the whole time Lexie was here, Joey wanted nothing to do with me. He didn't want to be held and he didn't want me to hold Lexie. I felt so left out, but there is nothing like seeing two puppies play; it's simply hilarious. Now today, he's wants to be held, but yesterday I was NOTHING! I'm anxious to see how he behaves next Tuesday, but now that days have changed he may just start expecting her all the time. Nancy |
