| I don't think I would heat dry kibble...microwave heat is held inside the food for quite a while and some things will explode after being removed and they can be extremely hot inside. If you want to you can soak her dry food in some warm water for a few minutes to soften it up and then heat it for 5 to 10 seconds, check it with your finger before giving it to her to be sure it won't burn her throat. |

| How old is Fergie? Until she was 5 months old or so, Gracie would not touch dry food unless I tossed it and made a game out of it for her. She still won't eat it alone even if it is mixed with warm water. She likes hers stirred into a bit of canned food. Does your baby like any kind of dry food? Have you tried topping it with a bit of Iams sauce? Baby might be bored as heck with the same old dry food every day. I only microwave my dry when mixing it with cold canned food, and only then for about 6 seconds.

| I've tried about a dozen kind of dry food for maggie and kizzy. they will not hardly eat it, maybe one time they eat like its great, after that they smell it and walk away. So I got a bottle of canine vita gravy. It comes in different flavors and looks like a bottle of salad dressing. They have the chicken flavor, but I just got it so they've only eaten it once. you just squeeze about a tsp of it on their dry dog food and mine ate it all today. I even had to use it on the chicken soup for puppy lovers. They will not eat it and I had purchased a 6 lb bag of it so now i'm gonna start using the vita gravy as its not that expensive and should go a long way. I paid 4.39 for a 12 ounce bottle. I just squeezed about a tsp of it or less on their food and stirred to make sure it got on all the kibbles and they licked their bowls clean. So I'm gonna make sure they eat three bags of dry food I have using the different flavors until its gone. I still have about 4 lbs of science diet and about 5 lbs of wellness and about 5 lbs of the chicken soup for puppy lovers. I've tried everything from black gold, iams and all the above and the one (I cant remember that name of it) but its for yorkies among a few other kind. Then I read some place that it makes dogs pickier to change their food a lot now that i've done it. duhhhhhhh. Oh well, I was trying to make sure they ate good. But if you give them the dry food and they dont eat good you might want to try this gravy on it. It alsy says its good for their skin and coat. It says it has 16 vitamins and minerals in it and their is a long list on it you can read for yourself.

| I heat up Max's food in the microwave for about 11 seconds. I add a little water to his dry food so that it makes a gravy. He doesn't like the dog gravies, so every few months, I take Pro Treat Freeze Dried Liver Treats. lay them out on a paper plate, cover it with a couple of paper towels, take a hammer and crush them into a powder. I sprinkle the powder in his food and he'll usually eat it up.I crush a lot of it, so freeze half. Judy |

| Why do you only want to feed her dry dog food? Do you blame her for not wanting it? I wonder how many have to *doctor* that dog food with *real* food in order to get them to eat. Anyway, if you put dry dog food on one plate, and beef or chicken with a mixture of rice, lentils and split peas, which one do you think they would gobble up? Yes, and they would be much healthier. |

| My 2 eat 'gourmet' - so my husband says... I have tried pretty much everything to get them to eat without me having to play games, waste time, etc... So, now there food consists of: AM = 15 pieces of Wellnes Supermix 5 - Smashed and hammer to dust I put that in the stainless steel plate/bowl. Then I grab some shredded carrots and slice them into pieces (works out to be about a teaspon full). Then I take 1 tablespoon of 90% Boiled Ground Meat and cut/slice to dust like and warm the meat for 10 seconds. Then I mix this all together with my hands. Then I cut 2 string beans up and sprinkle them ontop. ...now this has become NOT GOOD enough anymore for them...BRATS So, I sprinkle a tiny, tiny bit of Fresh Mozerella Cheese - that I grate with a fine cheese grater. I am trying to not have to resort to cheese, so I bought some freeze dried beef liver that I make into dust too and spinkle ontop. THEY LICK THEIR PLATES CLEAN I repeat in the PM all I can say is BRATS!!!! |

No Longer a Member | I have found that my picky yorkie eats dry food (Royal Canin) much better when I mix some homemade dog food in with it. I make hers by using small amount of chicken or beef and a little bit of steamed rice, all mashed together. I put 2 tb of her dry food and about 1/2 tb of the "real" food. She will wolf it down, whereas with the dry alone, she'll often not finish even the two tb. To the poster who mentioned the gravy...who makes that? thanks, |
