Donating YT 1000 Club Member | What's With Snow Shovels and Brooms? I bring out the broom or a shovel (we just had a snowstorm) and two of my three go nuts. I don't know why. They just carry on barking and don't let up until the broom is put away. My Jilly has even gone after the broom. Anyone have any thoughts as to why?

| My Yorkie herd also plays "kill the broom" and sometimes even "Vacuum Attack". |

| I cannot sweep or vacuum without putting my two away...it really is ridiculous how much that broom pisses them off (hope I can say that) Cooper also goes after rakes, shovels and the dust buster, and Carley will join in just for good measure. It was funny, but now if I need to sweep, it's easier to just put them away for a bit. I think it might be a protection thing, but I dunno

| I have a swiffer that Topher tries to kill every time I take it out....meanwhile Sophie could care less..lol. Not sure why that is. Since we brought Sophie home, though, Topher watches her and he sees that she's not excited so he doesn't go as crazy anymore. I'm glad it rubbed off that way and not the other way around! |

| Toto thinks the vacuum is "great fun"! She runs & chases it and if I go toward one of her toys, [on purpose, of course] she grabs it and takes it to a safe place. When I turn it off, she puts both her front paws up on it and barks at me like ... "Aw, Nonnie, let's play some more!!!"

| LillyBelle visciously attacks the vacuum, barking and pulling it forward with her teeth from the bottom and growling-I just have to put her up when I vacuum-because of her unladylike behavior! |

| Willie doesn't really pay much attention to brooms, rakes, vacuums and the like but Archie goes absolutely nuts when any of those move. He ignores them as long as they are still or turned off, but the second you try to use any of them --- look out! He went crazy one day when we were on a walk and passed a lady sweeping her front porch. We assured her that it was the broom he wanted to take on -- not her. |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I have one dust mop that I have saved for Joey's use. I sing a football fight song while he chases the mop. He absolutely loves this game; and he now allows me to use other cleaning tools with very little interference. Nancy |

| Katie does not like the vacuum cleaner. She gets on the couch or bed when I am cleaning and when I get too close she barks at it and takes off. Max is the broom/mop chaser. I have to put him up if I want to get anything done because he will latch on and not let go! I call him the Maxmop and give him a ride once in awhile. He on the other hand could care less about the vacuum. ? Go figure.

| Flyswatter? Oh I just thought I would add that the other thing mine hate is the flyswatter! I have no idea why except that one time when Katie was little my son kinda swatted me on the leg with it, playing around while trying to catch a fly and she went berserk! I think she thought it was getting her mommy! Now all you have to do is reach for it and she goes crazy.

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | I glad to hear my aren't the only ones who go into attack mode when I bring out the housekeeping tools. (Which is as little as possible) Buy why do they do it???? I got smart today, when Jilly went ballistic on the broom, she got a time out in their cage. That sure worked. She was quiet. Why did it take me so long to figure that out?
