| my puppies ears Toby is about 13 weeks old and one of his ears is standing up and one is flopped over. Is this normal? When we got him both or his ears were standing up. Did one just get lazy? hehe. I love him either way and he is so cute with his one little floppy ear. I was just wondering why. |

| My puppies' ears did the same thing. Sometimes their ears would be up and other times they would fold down. This cycle is due to their teething. To help their ears stand up you should start trimming the top 1/3 of their ears. The ears would be "set" up until they are about 6 months old. My puppies' are now 9 months old and they have big pointy ears. It is so funny to see them running outside 'cause their ears flop in the wind. |

| I think it's all up to the pup. Fred's ears were standing by themselves at 8 weeks. The breeder shaved his ears at 5 weeks and she also started massaging the cartlidge to get them out a little. If you massage it a little bit, that might help them stand up. But if one ear is standing, I'm sure eventually they both will |

| My baby Rocky had one floppy ear when we got him. We used one of those little bikini area trimmers and trimmed the hair off of the top of his ears and the next day...both ears were standing at attention and have stayed up! Give it a try, it worked for us! |

Yorkie Lover Donating Member | Sailor has one floppy ear and one ear that stands up...it is the cutest thing ever...we have tried everything to get the ear to stand but it doesn't want to...so we now leave it alone and let it do what it wants...she is cute no matter what!!!

| A couple weeks after i got charlie, one of his ears stood up, then we went for a long car ride and both got really really floppy (he hates car rides), now they are both floppy. But, I like em that way, so i don't shave his ears.

| Tilly's ears were already up when I brought her home. When I got Sami, his ears were down, but It didn't change the fact that I wanted him! actually he looked so cute.. Sami's ears have not stood up yet? he is now 5 months old and his ears have been shaved twice and I do massage daily & everytime he lies in my lap when he is sleeping, So far I am hoping they stand up if not I quess I will have to sell him with this defect! NOT!! just being sarcastic I love him just like he is , but I thought with his ears up it could only make him cuter.. |

| Stewie's ears were down and then after I massaged them they went up. After his rabies shot reaction, they went down. I shaved them and massage them and they won't go back up.
