Lovin' 2 Girls Donating Member | Carriers ? Wondering: do those of you who are owned by 6lb - 7lbers have carriers, and if so - which ones are the best suited to this size pup? Thanks

| Are you worried that is too big? Loki is a tall and skinny 11lbs, not compact like Yorkies are supposed to be, and he still fits in a carrier. I have the New York Dog Hobo carrier and Loki fits with room to spare. He gets heavy after 20 mins or so, so the carrier is for quick stealth trips in places he's probably not supposed to be - no restaurants though, we follow the rules there. Otherwise I just let him walk and pick him up if necessary. Holding him in my arms is more comfy than the bag, but then the trip takes twice as long because 15 people have to cuddle him. And if he walks, he starts doing tricks to impress the people so again it takes forever... I did have a hard time finding a larger carrier that wasn't super wide. Generally the large size carriers look like suitcases, which isn't what I needed. But I found one!

| New York Dog makes tons of carriers. I don't think they have a website. Just google New York Dog Hobo and see what you get. Maybe try ebay. I've sold my old carriers on ebay as Loki grew out of them. I got this last one at a local pet shop so that I could try Loki in it and see how it feels. We are lucky to have a couple cute little boutiques around here, although they totally over charge!

| I just bought the Celltei pet to go. Haven't received it yet but read rave reviews. Do a search for carriers and you'll find alot of reviews for a bunch of different ones. Good luck Shar-Lee & Finnigen www.celltei.com

| My hubby got me the vera bradley carrier for my birthday in Sept. Tank is about 6lbs and he fits in it comfortably. I like it because it has a secure turn lock at the top of the mesh. I have had ones with zippers before and tank wiggles his nose through them. I don't have any pictures of him in it with me, but here's their website and a picture from it. Goodluck finding one you love! http://www.verabradley.com/Site/Stor...&sku=812%3a60& |

| I'm been going through this...trying to find a carrier that doesn't look like a suitcase. I have dumped a ton of money on bags I don't like. Anyways, so far the only thing I like is the celltei carriers. I am having a pak-o-pet custom made. I had an xs but my dog who was estimated to grow 5.5lbs is now boardering on 8lbs!! I like that he is balanced and his head can stick out the middle. I'm getting one made with a narrower width but longer body in the hopes that it won't look like a suitcas ebut will be big enough for him to tuck in his head if I need to. I like the Juicy's. They look like a big purse but I'm not willing to spend that much on one yet. suz |
