Leash Danger To Humans 10 STITCHES!!!!! That is what I have after some idiot went flying down the street with his labs off leash running loose and Simon went chasing after them! Well his leash was wrapped around my ankle and cut me open! OUCH!!! The dr. in the ER asked if I had a rottie since the situation was so "odd" so I had to explain to him that it was a 6 pound yorkie that did this to me (an accident of course) and he laughed! And to add insult to injury I just had surgery yesterday and got in trouble for not being in bed and being outside with my dogs! grrrrrrrrrr...........

OUCHHHHH!! I'm glad to hear you're okay! That sounds like it hurts! I remember when I was a kid, I was jumping on the bed and at the time, we had a Shih Tzu named Lucky. Well, she decided to jump on the bed and I was a little kid I didn't know any better, I tried to avoid jumping on her so I jumped to the side, fell off the bed and hit my head on the corner of a dresser. Result: 20 stitches I believe (if I can remember right). Gosh, I better watch out for leashes!! I'm glad to hear you and Simon are okay. Maybe you should go get some rest, young lady! lol

Yes, Natalie I am in bed now And yes Simon is very very very strong! He always has been and he wasn't even phased by the whole thing, except when he saw me crying (he's so sweet that way) and now both he and Hallie want to lick my ankle and make it better.

YT Addict | You have a tough protector on your hands. Better make sure he doesn't get a big head and want to be called macho. Anyways, glad to hear you are back in bed and that everything turned out ok.

He just kept going and thankfully so did his dogs! I don't know what I would have done if one of his dogs hurt Simon! Simon is way too tough for his own good, I've been calling him popeye all morning

I am so sorry about your leg. Was the leash retractable? I have heard stories of injuries to both humans and dogs with legs being caught up in them. Ouch! I will remember to be cautious with mine, hope you heal quickly. All the best.

the retractable leashes have a warning that comes with them, it says that the leash may "cause injury including possible "decapitation" if it is wrapped around legs, hands fingers, ect.."

I quit using the retractable leashes awhile ago! It was a nylon leash that is fairly long so they can run in the front yard. Simon has always been a puller but has calmed down since I switched leashes he just got excited and I wasn't paying as much attention to myself as I should have been Thank you all for your concern!
