| I can't put away toys! Wes and Maddie have their toys all over the house. I have a couple baskets upstairs in my room where I like to keep them. I don't mind them bringing toys downstairs at all. But sometimes it is time to clean them up. But everytime I pick up a toy to put away...that is the one Wesley wants to play with! As I put them in, he takes them out! So when my intention was to clean up, I always end up playing with him, making even more of a mess! Now I try to clean up when he is taking a nap or is distracted by my boyfriend. Does anyone else experience this? |

| i have not tried this with maggie because she is so little still but I once had a lab that I taught to "go get it", "bring it", and "drop it"....she used to do the same thing with her toys. she would have them strown all over the house!! one day, I got to thinking...if she can do those 3 commands, she can go get it, bring it to her basket, and drop it in her basket. so we started that. and I would call it "clean up". she eventually learned what clean up meant and she would help me. yes, she would get toys out again to play with them, but she would also put them back when i told her. like i said, i have not tried this with maggie but i am hoping to have the same luck with her. but you have to teach the dog those 3 basic commands first. and any dog that likes to fetch will learn those commands very quickly. i look at it like potty training...they can learn it, you just have to be persistent and work on it all the time until they get it. also...you say you have baskets upstairs..maybe you should keep a basket in a descreet place downstairs as well?? we have one next to the fireplace and that is where the dogs go and get their toys.

| We keep our yorkies toys in a basket. I know that they have had a good time when I come home and they are all over the place. The looks on their face when I put them away makes me throw them back to them. lol I don't mind the toys, but usually pick them up at night and either put them by their beds or in the basket. It's kind of like having two years olds running around again. You never actually catch up. lol As soon as I try to eat breakfast, my little Me-Me grabs her ball and starts squeaking it telling me to throw it for her.

| I'm always picking up toys! It's like I have a toddler! I clean up his mess in the morning but by late afternoon there's not one toy left in his toybox!

haha Nancy... that is too funny. The good things about dogs is that they don't really talk back or whine or slam their doors

| Mimi & Timmy have toys all over the place too. I got tired of picking them up and putting them in the basket. Now I just leave them all over the place during the week and pick them up on the weekends. No one comes to my house during the week so it doesn't bother me that they have their toys laying around. |

| We sooooo have the same problem. All is not right in Punkin's world unless her toys are all over the place. Her favourite place to keep them is out front hall. Currently their must be 25 of them all over the place. When the fed ex guy came to the door this morning he had a good laugh.

| yes they drag them all out so i put them up now where they can't reach them in a basket then give them a few to keep to play with and buy different ones or trade them out
