| Everyone with more than 1 yorkie..I need your help!! Princess is almost 2 and we have been thinking of getting another yorkie. Well, we are finally ready, but we want to know what sex is best to get for a playmate for her-male or female? Is there a difference with how they will get along? Also, if we get a male is he going to lift his leg everywhere? Basically, I just want to know the differences and your opinion on whether we should get a male or female!! Thank you |

| Personally I think a boy and girl will get along best. But in the past I have had 2 females. I don't have any problem with my guy lifting his leg in the house, and he is not neutered and has mated. I think you have more of that problem if they are not neutered young enough and also if you have more than one male. Two are so much fun. My two play together constantly tag, hide and seek, peek a boo, or just plain wrestling. they are ore fun than TV |

| Boys don't always lift their legs.. If you aren't planning on breeding, will you fix them? If yes then a boy is great, if no then a girl is great! Good luck!

| There's no guarantee that any 2 dogs will get along. We have 2 neutered boys that are the best of buddies but Riley doesn't like to play too much and Jo wants to play every waking minute. They don't fight, mark or lift their legs because they were neutered young. I'm still looking to get a baby girl even though I have 2 boys. |

| I have a male and a female and they get along great. My male doesnt mark in the house but he is neutered. There are no jealosy issues with my two. Sometimes My male wants to play rougher than My female wants to but that is the only negative

| I always wanted girls -- just had some idea they made better pets. Then I saw Ben and had to have him. I was actually waiting for my little female at the time -- had already committed. But we bought Ben and oh what a lovable Yorkie! He is absolutely the most loving little dog I have ever seen. I am so glad I finally got a boy and saw the err of my ways! LOL! We did still got the little girl too and they get along great. They play fight half the day and cuddle up together the other half. I love having a boy and a girl.

| Hi. I first had a male and then got a female when our male was seven. He was a bit jealous at first but only for a few weeks. After, he was so happy to have another play mate. My male never lifts his leg in the house. He was neutered early though (By the time he was six months) this makes a big difference. He does still however, like to lift his leg outside when he pottys, especially on anything laying around the yard. LOL. Over time we brought in two more females. Noel came to us when Bella was a year old and Bella nurtured her as if she were her puppy (all my girls are spayed) but I do notice now as Noel is older (She's two now) that Bella does get bitchy at times with her. It may just be her personality as Bella is very alpha. The other two females are pretty laid back and never argue. I really think that how they get along really depends more on the personality of the dog then on the sex. Hope it all works out for. Elaine |
