| shaving for neutering? This may seem like a silly question, but after watching Sawyers coat grow so slowly, and coming in so good now, I am concerned about how much they will shave to neuter him. I definetly will have it done, I just would like to be ready for all they will shave. Those of you with slow growing silk coats will understand I'm sure.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Cali was shaved so much on her tummy as she had exploratory surgery at the same time and then she started to bleed after so they put some type of bandage around her whole mid section and then cut if off hair and all. It is still shorter than the rest of her coat but I am gradually evening her out. I think with males they do not shave much at all.

| They hardly have to shave at all. The incision is done just ahead of the testicles underneath kind of at the base of the penis and that is shaved. You can't see it unless you really look for it. There are usually about 3 stitches maybe 4 depending on the size of the Yorkie. Rupert was neutered 2 weeks ago and he hasn't missed a beat. |

| I just inquired about this too........my boy has an ever-so-slowly silky coat too. For Bobbi, they are going to shave his leg (for lab work).....but a little area and his perineal area too.
