| 6 yr old yorkie pees too often! help!! hi everyone. i just got a 6 year old yorkie passed down to me. its a very friendly, loveable dog, the only problem i have with him is that he pees too much. i found myself needing to walk him 5 times a day, during which he peed at least 5 times per walk. he doesnt go on the wee wee pad, and im not sure how to train him to use it. sometimes we come back from walks and he will pee somewhere in the house. i dont understand is this normal or might he have a bladder problem? how do i go about teaching him to use the wee wee pad? is it too late for his age? i know its not out of spite that he pees around the house. he loves his new owners! but help.. what can i do? |

| Is he neutered? It sounds like he's marking his territory. |

| That could be a symptom of diabetes - you might want to check with your vet. |

| I know it (normally) does in younger males...it did mine, they have never marked. It should help in an older dog too. You might want to ask your vet and have him checked to rule out any health issues too. |

| i wouldnt say 5 times a day is a lot mine go in the garden more than that. he could be marking so it would be better to get him done. boy dogs always wee a lot when they go out not like girls who do one big wee.

| Chachi pees that often when I take him out on walks. Sometiimes he pees on every light pole we pass. I am sure some of it is marking and he is neutered
