| Please keep us in your prayers Hello all---I am soo sad Melot was "stepped on" (as I was told ) and now has a broken femur. We have to go to the vet in the morning to find out what can be done. We just left the Emergency center and he was given hydromorphone to reduce the pain. Melot is resting but I am not!! I hope everything is going to be okay, the stupid ER doctor said he may need surgery for pin insertion. I cried the entire time .... PLease keep us in your prayers

| I'm so sorry this has happened to your baby. They are so quick to get under our feet, aren't they? I hope you find out good news tomorrow and that she completely recovers. God bless... deb |

| Melot. I hope everything turns out alright. This is my worse nightmare. We have four but three are on the large side so I don't worry but my little Tia is under four pounds and I'm always fearful of someone shutting he door on her or her getting under our feet and us stepping on her. We are all very careful but sometimes careful don't cut it. They don't call them velcro dogs for nothing and man they are always wrapped around your ankles when you're walking. Elaine. |

| THANKS EVERYONE...I really don't know how it happened...I received report when I got home from work. I know I have tripped and never hurt my baby as much as this. Of course no one really explained the details, but I can't see a simple trip doing this. I really hurt for my furbaby!! He is really out of it though..I hope he feels okay after the medication wears off.

| OMG poor baby! Who was watching him? Not that it's their fault, but if they cannot offer a reasonable explanation for how this happened, then I'd be very wary of them ever watching your baby again I hope that everything goes well at the vet today.

| Hello All. It has been a very teary-dreary- day!! Melot was taken to our regular vet and he said that the injury was worse than a fracture, it was shattered as well !! He said Melot needed an Orthopedic surgeon and quickly called for an appointment. When he returned he said we could go (about 45min drive) and the price would be near $3800. They also wanted payment today. I almost had a crying FIT!!! I dont have that kind of money just sitting around. So he explained other options, that he could do for a smaller amount (screws and stuff) but I needed to do something, so Melot wouldnt be in pain over the weekend. Needless to say I opted for the less expensive screws praying that because he is so young that he will fully recoup. My now ex-boyfriend was the one that "stepped" on him, but I am not speaking with him to even allow further explanation. And as far as him helping pay...I can truly forget that... So...The vet says that Melot will be in a cast for 10 weeks and we will have to pray that everything went well. Once again I thank you all for the kind words and prayers Melots Mommy Angela
