| Really Scared Hello everyone, Reese has been sick for the past week with diarrhea. She had an appointment for her shots last Friday but when we got home from work to take her she had gone to the bathroom all over her pen. The night before I had given her several pieces of rotisery chicken. I assumed that they did not agree with her and that is what made her sick. So that night we took her to the vet and they tested her stool sample which the vet determined has a dhigh bacteria count. So she put her on a medication. For the first 48 hours I only gave her white rice per the intructions of the vet. On Sunday night we then tried to give her the wet food she likes and Monday morning she had diarrhea again. So for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday we only fed her the white rice again and some of her dry food. For some unknown reason daddy felt bad for her and gave her a piece of white bread which she threw up almost immediately. For the entire week Reese has not eaten much. Well, it has been one full week and she no longer has full blown diarrhea but her stool is formed but soft. I just gave her a mixture of her dry food and her wet food, I am waiting to see what happens. Reese is suppose to go for her rabies shot tomorrow so I called the vet and told her what had gone on all week and they said that she wants to test her for liver shunt tomorrow morning. I am really scared about this. I have been reading past threads on this topic but I can't really tell if Reese's symptoms match those of having liver shunt. Reese is the most loving and friendly dog ever. She is our little baby. I can't imagine her having this life time illness. Please if anyone knows anything about this your opinion would be greatly appreciated. I know I am not going to get any sleep tonight thinking about this.

| I would keep her appointment to have her checked out, although I would not allow her to have a rabie shot just yet! allow her to build up some energy and recoupe first, also you can give her pedilyte popcycles (spelled wrong) it will replace her electrolites. please keep us posted!! |

| diet Some Yorkies can not tolerate table food at all. Keep her on her dog food and don't let anyone slip up. Good luck |

| Poor Reese, I hope it was just the chicken and nothing more serious. Good Luck!
