| Nonstop throwing up @ 3am! Help! Howie has been throwing up now for basically the last 20 mins (it's 3am). On New Years Eve I caught my mother sitting at the kitchen table cutting up a piece of steak and feeding it to him! I stopped her immediately and told her that he never eats steak and that that much human food, especially one he isn't used to, is going to make him sick. Early the next morning Howie woke up with 2 runny stools but seemed okay. Last night he woke me up TWICE with pretty bad diarrhea (almost liquid). He ate his breakfast fine in the morning and I went to work. I came home at lunch and he seemed alright. Well, when I came home at night it was like he was waiting for me. He must have had nonstop diarrhea for about an hour. I gave him chicken and rice for dinner hoping it would help his tummy. I don't know what to do!! Howie is 10 months old, 10 pounds and really healthy. He's thrown up 2 other times in his whole life and that was from car sickness. Oh, please help!

No Longer a Member | Your baby could be in big trouble. This is nothing to mess around with. Even at his weight he will get dehydrated very quickly. Gizmo's first round with Pancreatitis came from pieces of a hamburger pattie. Please get him checked out. Good luck and prayers to you both...and please update when you can. I will be thinking of you. |

| Yeah I'm pretty worried. He went back to bed around 3:30 and stayed asleep until 6:30. Woo hoo 3 hours of sleep! I'm calling my vet first thing. It didn't even occur to me that it could be pancreaitis. Thanks everyone. I'll let you know how it all works out.

| You might try a little Kaopectate (1ml per lb or dog, 2-4 per day) or Imodium ad (1-2 ml per 4 lbs. of dog, 2-3 per day). Definitely call your vet as well. Hope he feels better!

| My Angel shih tzu reacted badly to human food too.... The first time was when my sd was dog sitting. SHe left her to run the house and she got into some pork roast bones. SHe was sick for a while and I even took her to the vet for xrays to be sure she didnt ingest something else.. SHe would vomit, diarrhea, and not eat for a while. I made sure she had water in her and she finally cleaned it all out. She has had teh same reaction to most meats in the past when an unsuspecting stranger thinks she needs a table scrap or even a bone. She really is miserable from it and will stand with all 4 feet in nearly the same spot in the middle. She has never had people food nor any of my other dogs but it has never kept them from wanting it. I dont even let them have canned food. The reaction is a horrible tummy ache and diarrhea, Bon |

| So glad you are taking him to the vet. Years ago I had a furbaby that got pancreatitis and had to be on IV for 3 days. It was a scary experience. All from a piece of turkey. It was a lesson learned experience for me. I am now all my family knows not to feed the pups no matter how cute they are.
