My Wiley Riley..... Riley went to the vet this morning to have his teeth cleaned and a bad one pulled...turns out he had 3 pulled. I don't know if he's having a hard time with the pain meds on an empty stomach or if the anesthesia is giving him some trouble this time but they gave him some water and he tossed it back up so they want to keep him overnight. We just went to see him and he is a little groggy from the pain meds but otherwise seems fine. They're afraid he might continue to throw up and dehydrate so they want him to stay there. Even though I wasn't happy I did leave him there for the night. The vet will be in and out and he said he'll call later to give me an update. Please keep my baby boy in your good thoughts and prayers...I miss him and want him home!

Thank you everyone. Riley is my 'sensitive' boy and it really hurts me to see him in pain...he looks so puney and he wasn't much to begin with! I think he would have been fine at home but the dehydration thing made me a little nervous and I didn't want to take a chance with him. I'll call first thing in the morning to see how he is.

| Poor little guy! It is hard not to have him with you but certainly sounds like the best thing for him.

I know what you are going through. Our Wrigley was spayed today and had 14 baby teeth removed! She's doing good, just pretty groggy. She has to take an antibiotic and pain medicine, but she's home and sleeping well! Hang in there!

Thanks for all the good thoughts! Riley came home this morning...he's tired from the anesthesia and a little slow from the pain pills but otherwise he's fine. He wants to sleep but Jo wants to play. I didn't sleep well...I don't like it when things are out of sorts! He sure was happy to get home and we're glad he is home! Oh, and even though he had to stay overnight and they did his nails the bill was $160.00 less than the original estimate...of course, they always estimate high but I was expecting a lot worse than the high end of it when they said he had to stay over.

I'm sure Riley will be up and running by tonight. So glad you got your boy home though. I know its really upsetting when they are somewhere that we can't see them. When I brought Venus home the same day, they said "no food or water". Sorry but I gave her water with a dropper, and a few bites of food that night. She hadn't ate anything, or drank since the night before surgery!

Thanks guys...Riley is home and he's doing fine! He seems a little thin though and I want to feed him all he wants but I know that wouldn't be good for him. He's on soft food for a few days so I can't put the hard food down for Jo yet either. He ended up having 2 teeth pulled and one was a molar that was out of place and causing trouble with the one next to it...it was rooted and that root was long! The vet gave me the teeth and I can see why he's so sore! He's on antibiotics and Remadyl for pain once a day but I think he'll be fine after a couple of days. Funny thing is...the left side of my jaw has hurt all day and I never have trouble with my teeth...I think I'm having sympathy pains for him!
