| So you want a tiny puppy. I have read so many times "I have a tiny baby and she/he is healthy." GOOD for you BUT they are still way more fragile. Last night I was giving Candi a bath and she slid in the tub and hit her head. She didn't hit hard and didn't fall just a little slide. She went completely limp and was barely breathing. I wrapped her in a towel and rush the the emergancy vet. While on the way there she started to come around a bit, but still not good. When we got there she couldn't stand and was still not breathing very well. They put her on oxygen and did some exrays. She had to stay all night and when I went first thing this morning to see her she was doing much better. They let me bring her home but she can not run, jump, or play for a few days. She bruised her skull. She is still moving slow and has to go back to the vets tomorrow for another exray. Thank God it wasn't worse. Just so everyone knows I did not buy Candi as a tiny she was not the runt of the liter. (however she is the smallest of her liter now) I had a tiny year before and she did have lots of health issues, such as her throat being to tiny she would have trouble breathing. She had a lot of trouble coming out of surgery, and the worst was when she got older. Her little body was to small that organs couldn't keep up or fight infections...

| OH no...poor Candi. I am sooo sorry this happened to her and to you. She seems like she is a little fighter though and will get thru this. Give her lots of hugs and kisses and I hope and pray she makes a speedy recovery real soon.

| I am sorry your Candi got hurt but I am glad she is doing better. This is a good reminder to people who want tinies that they need to have the extra resources when owning one. Something as simple as this ends up with an Emergency Vet visit

| Poor Candi. I'm so glad it wasn't anything more serious, but what a scare nonetheless.

| Oh no Tricia!! I'm so sorry to hear about Candi. I know EXACTLY how you feel because I go through all the same worries with my little Cali. People sometimes just don't realize all the extra work and attention these super little ones require. Please give Candi some get well kisses from me and my gang. I'm so sorry.

| Oh, poor baby! I'm so sorry you had such a scare but relieved to hear she will be ok. This reminds me... I was reading in another post that someone uses a blanket at the bottom of the sink and then there was a recommendation to use a bath mat so the babies won't slip. Penny has slipped quite a few times, and it really scares me she will be injured. Thank you for sharing the warning and reminder to all of us. As a new mommy of what seems will be a little one, I'll need to take extra precautions to keep her safe. |

| OMG I can imagine what you were going thorough. I'm glad to hear she is doing better. You are right about those who claim they have healthy tinies. Just because they haven't had problems so far, doesn't mean that they won't. I know someone has to give these tinies a home, and Bless the hearts of those who are willing to take the risk. but to deliberately breed so they will be under 4 pounds is just plain unconscionable. |

| Thank you all so much, I also wanted to say that lastnights visit cost me just over $400. To some this isn't bad but to others it is a lot. My baby probably wouldn't have made it if not for the oxygen. Quote:
