| Grooming: What I need to know! I want to take Fred to the groomers, but I'm scared of all the horror stories!! What should I ask for? I want his booty shaved and his eyes trimmed. What do you all usually ask for when you bring your puppies into the groomers? He's getting so NAPPY! Eeek! I keep brushing and brushing and brushing. I don't want to brush the fella to death. I think it's because his hair is just a little too long and it's ..just...nappy. |

| I did the same thing, fretted and fretted until last week I did it. Jack (6 months) feels and looks so much better, I asked for a "puppy cut" about 1" long, and asked that they leave the hair on his ears and to make sure they didn't cut his long eyelashes off. I kept thinking "well it will always grow back if I don't like it", but it was fine. All that fretting for nothing.

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | I wrote down exactly what I wanted and it went something like this. Ears Tipped/shaped......trim stray hair in eye area without cutting the hair on their face.....feet shaped.....Sanitary & butt areas trimmed...nails cut. Please DO NOT CUT ANY FACE HAIR !!! (they don't always listen to that last one) |

| Is it bad to cut face hair?!! Sometimes, when Fred's eyeboogers get too hard to handle I trim them off with a little pair of scissors I bought. The hair on his head is getting too long so it's bouncing up and down in and out of his face, poor guy. |

| You can cut or not cut whatever you want,,, But, I also made a list of things I did and did not want done.. Or, you could ask in detail what they normally do?? and then decide what you want done... normally nails, feet, butt, around pee area, ears, hair between eyes,,then I have his hair all trimmed,,,not short, just trimmed. I have Baileys eyebrows trimmed cause he doesnt like to be brushed, so there is NO WAY it could be long!

| Natalie I think the main reason not to cut the face hair is because she is wanting her dogs hair long. If you look at the pretty pictures of her pups they have long hair. It takes quite a while to get the hair long enough so that it doesn't stand up in their eyes and such, you don't want all that time to go to waste. This is just what I think though. We're growing Reagan's hair out and this is what I would guess having dealt with her hair. Another question, if you are growing your dogs hair out how often should you have them groomed. She's over 6 months old and I haven't had her groomed yet. The hair on her feet does need trimming I will say that.
