| Izzy getting spayed a week from Friday I'm so nervous! I'm hoping that she doesn't show any signs of being in heat by then, cuz they won't do the surgery then So we'd have to wait, and I know that they are better off not having that first heat at all. Shoulda done it sooner, but with the holiday craziness we just couldn't. Starr's vet was ripping us off bigtime Her spay was almost $400, and that was 3 years ago. Izzy's spay will be $159~! I hate our old vet more and more, it wasn't enough that he slacked on saving my baby, but then to find out later that he's overchargeing everone for stuff makes me sick I sure as heck will never ever recommened that place to anyone, we love our new vet, he's caring, knows Yorkies well, and charges reasonable prices.

| Thanks Mandy I know she'll be okay, but it still is hard. Joy and Bella, I am in Stuart. This vet is in Jensen Beach, and is called Ocean Breeze Animal Hospital. Though I don't know how they can call themselves a hospital, no one's there overnight They're nice enough, just not good enough for my babies anymore now that I know better. They have no clue about toy breeds and how quickly they can go down, yet their groomer is a mulitple Yorkie owner. Weird. The new vet is Palm City Animal Hospital, specifically Dr. Sentell. He used to own Yorkies and was recommended to me by a lady that breeds Yorkies. I have so much more confidence in him, and wish like heck that I'd found him before my baby Starr got so sick She'd still be alive. There is always a vet on call there, so no need for the ER vet, though they're great there, just expensive as all get out. *sigh* I know that Izzy will do great, she's 5.5 lbs and healthy as can be. I'll really be a mess when my tiny 2.5 lb Luna goes in. I'm trying to get her to over 3 lbs, since she'll be 6 months old on the 31st and I'd like to get her spayed asap.

| Awww, good luck to your baby as well! It's so scary anytime these littles have to go under That's why I am so glad that I found YT, I found out about the Petzlife for their teeth so my girls should never need a dental cleaning Plus all the support here is phenomenal!

| Here's the site that I ordered from. It keeps their teeth clean, and if there's buildup it slowly removes it. I've started both girls on it so hopefully tartar will never be a problem for them http://www.petzlife.com/

| Oh, forgot to say, those chews are good, but they're probably not enough, considering how bad Yorkies teeth can be. Especially if you can't brush their teeth all the time

| Our puppy Wrigley was spayed today. She is just a little over 6 months and weighs 3.09lbs. We were all sooo nervous, but she came through just fine. She had to have 14 baby teeth pulled! Has anyone else had to have alot of baby teeth removed? She's pretty sleepy and has to take antibiotics and pain medicine, which is more for the teeth removal. The spaying charge was just a little over $150.00. |

| Questions are great, it shows that you care about your baby I bought the combo pack and just alternate between the two. I like the gel better, it's easier to get into their mouths. If you miss with the spray, it could go into their eyes, owie With all the wiggling they do, it wouldn't be hard Anyway, some of the gals here wrote just the other day that they think the gel works better, so I'd get the gel. When this set I got is gone, I'm just gonna go for the gel. My girls don't eat it voluntarily, but it's just a smidge they need, so just stick it in the mouth. It makes sense that the gel would work better, it's thicker. It's good to still brush anyway, I get my girls about once a week or so. The little one brushes her own teeth by chewing on the brush, but I have to hold Izzy down. She's got gorgeous teeth, thank goodness

| Saying a prayer for all the girls getting ready for their spay. I know it is very scary, but they will do fine. I love my Vet and all the technicians. They are wonderful and treat my babies like they are their own. The only thing I do not like is even though it is called Frankfort Animal Hospital, it too, is not open 24 hours and are not on call. I do have a back up Vet who I like very well and then ER is only 25 minutes away. They charge a minimum of $75, but in an emergency, I don't care. I'd pay whatever to keep my babies healthy. Petzlife is great I think. I use the gel to brush their teeth a couple of times a week and use regular doggie toothpaste the other times. I use the spray on treats once in awhile and spray it on the food once or twice a week. Their teeth are looking so good now. Joey's still look like they were just cleaned.
