| Yorkie Escaped From Backyard I would like some advice what else to do. I have a male yorkie and 2 female yorkies. One of the females had puppies recently so things have been really busy here lately. I let the dogs into the backyard which I do all the time without incedent and today Peanut escaped through a loose board in the fence. I really expected him to be hanging around the house so I wasn't overly excited until I made a couple of streets and he was nowhere to be found. I got in the car and drove every street for a couple of blocks in every direction and still couldn't find him. I made fliers with his photo and left one at each house for a few streets over in either direction. No one I talked to has seen him. I put some fliers on phone posts near all the busy intersections nearby. The animal control center was closed due to the holidays, so I don't think I can go there until Tuesday. They don't offer any way to report a missing dog online. I guess my question is, where else would you report a missing dog? I am worn out and I have no doubts I won't be able to sleep tonight. Any ideas are appreciated. |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | Oh no .... I would talk to ALL the neighbor kids and offer them a few bucks for his safe return - kids know everything. Don't give up ...you can call vets offices nearby too - and keep posting those flyers ! Poor little guy he must be so scared.....the real fear is someone wanting to keep him but there ARE good people left in the world and if someone is a true dog lover they'll return him to his family. All the best to you and i hope you find him - |

| Thanks for the information. I appreciate it. I was running out of ideas and waiting around is really hard to do. I took one of the other dogs with me when I was posting all the fliers-I thought she might find him miraculoulsly...it was worth a shot. I think I about walked her to death too. Thanks for all the support, it's really appreciated. |

| Have you tried taking any of your other yorkies out on a leash to help look for Peanut? Hopefully you'll find Peanut really soon.

| I certainly hope you get him back but these little dogs should not be outside when you can't watch them. The last thing I am trying to do is make you feel worse but birds of prey can snatch a little dog out of their yard before you know it. This warning could save somebody's pet as many people don't realize that this could happen. Paws crossed for Peanut's safe return. |
