| When a set of tenants left us with a flea infestation in our rental property....I bombed twice and still had them so ended up having to call Terminex in to spray everything including the yard before they were gone. As far as getting them off the dogs....the best thing is Capstar from the vet. One dose and bang...no more fleas, but the problem is, they will just get them back if they are in the house.

| The flea eggs nest in places which is why they can come right back. My friend took in a stray cat w/fleas, I refused to take my dog over there. The vet told her to clean & sprary everything. Kodak is 2yrs old and had fleas at 5mths but hasn't had them since. He was using pads at the time, barely went out so the vet narrowed it to catching them in the pet store. The vet gave him Frontline, and something by mouth. We had to go home and wash his bedding in hot water, vacuum with flea vacuum powder to kill and pick up the eggs. Spray down the bedding, walls and carpet with flea spray to kill any remainding eggs. He couldn't lay on the bedding for a few days until those fumes subsided so he would'nt get sick. But I refused to have those nasty little fleas around biting him or one of us. Good luck getting rid of them.

My Tiny Treasures Donating Member | I don't want the new born pup to get them but I'm afraid as to what to use in the house. She's in another room with the door closed. Could I still bomb the house with her in the closed door room? |

| I wouldn't. That stuff is Toxic. I would recommend removing her and mama to another location for a few days and making sure all pets were flea free before bringing them back into the house. Get the capstar from the vet and then use Frontline religiously afterwards. This is a big problem since it's not nice to shuffle new mama's around..but fleas are NO Joke and can cause all sorts of problems healthwise. I wouldn't recommend breeding anybody until the flea issue is resolved.

| I had notice on Bailey when I had just got him he had 2 fleas (that I saw) on him so I ran and took him a bath and went got some over the counter flea medication that you put on their little necks and then after that I was like ok you are not going outside anymore (I know that sounds means huh but Bailey doesn't even miss it LOL) but I live next door and in front of neighbors that have dogs and I don't know if he got them from the grass or if it jumped off of the others dogs. Anyway Bailey had not been in the grass SINCE!! He poops and pees in the house (we are still in the training process) and I haven't seen a fleas since and that was 5 weeks ago and also I keep him bathed every one-two weeks...I pray I never see them AGAIN!!!

| The only topical I've ever used that worked was Frontline. I think it depends on the dog and the area of the country you're in. As for the house, if there's any way you can keep the dogs up off the carpet for a few days, go to the hardware store and buy a big jug of Boric Acid (it's in most flea preparations). Sprinkle it heavily on the carpet and let it sit for a few days. Vacuum and IMMEDIATELY throw away the vacuum bag. Some people forget that fleas can live and breed in the vacuum bags. |

| I'm in the middle of a flea problem as well. I'm pretty sure that they came from the yard. Our back yard has a privacy fence, on the other side are two gigantic flea bag 75-lb dogs! Yuck. So i'm fortunate we have hardwood floors and only area rugs. That should help some. So i'm heading to the vet tomorrow to purchase Frontline. There are tons of leaves out back, and since the grass hasn't been growning due to weather/winter... I haven't been mowing but the leaves are piling up. So i'm also gonna bag or mulch the yard and PLEASE suggest something to spread on the yard for FLeAS.... I recently tried some Walmart something for fleas/ants/etc... no luck. Please help

| Our vet told us to put a flea collar into our vaccuum bag as well as the topical stuff on the dogs and also to add either vinegar or a few drops of tea tree oil to the rinse water when bathing them. |

I certainly would NOT bomb the house with the babies there ... and I don't think REVOLUTION is used for pups under 8 weeks from their website: Revolution Is A Topical Parasiticide That Is Applied To The Skin Of Dogs Eight Weeks Of Age And Older To Kill Adult Fleas And Prevent Flea Eggs From Hatching. Also Prevents Heartworm Disease And Treats And Controls Ear Mite Infestation And Intestinal Worms Roundworm And Hookworm.

YT 3000 Club Member | I have used revolution on chester for several years, it covers more and it is not a pesticide it is a drug. Also fleas do not like euculyptyus, I will go to super supplements and get some drops on him during the winter and I have not seen a flea on him in ages and if I do it is maybe one strolling around, You can also use euculyptyus leaves in your house. I run a flea comb through chester every nite. |
