Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | Scaredy-cat problem solved! Some of you may have read about our moose-attack incident and Eddie's subsequent panic attacks every time we went to the park. I was so upset that I solicited advice on three dog forums including YT and got helpful information from all three that solved the problem. Here's what I did when Eddie refused to work to the park: * Day 1: I turned back when he refused to go to the park. * Day 2: I exercised him around the house. * Day 3: I carried him to show him there were no mean moose in the park, plying him with treats along the way. I'm not sure that was the best idea because I was babying him. * Day 4 (after getting more advice): I went the park from a different direction, and I brought along his favorite toy. I kept it real upbeat and tossed the toy for him all the way to the park. He also got plenty of treats. The result? No problem whatsover. He's cured! At least for today. Thanks again for all your advice. Who needs a stinkin' behaviorist when you have online buddies???

And Luvmysissy, I've heard -- and used -- a lot of cliches on YT, but I think that's the first "thinking cap" I've seen here. So don't feel bad!
