| He's not at all like her My new little boy is such a sook....all he does is cry! He doesnt want to play with Bailey or me, he just wants to be cuddled. I've been keeping him and Bailey apart mostly and just letting them play for short periods. Bailey wasnt like this at all when I got her, she was pretty spunky right away. Do you think its just being in a new environment and he'l get used to it? Am trying not to pick him up when he cries, but he either tries to climb up my leg or just sits on my foot. Also, I dont think we have had one pee on the pad yet, despite taking him there constantly |

| Ahhhhhhh he's just acting like a baby. It's all right to hold him and comfort him untill he gets used to his new surroundings. Buddy was like that when I got him at 14wks. It was just like having a human baby! All he wanted was me. Period. Have patience and give him lots of love. Remember not all pups, like children, will react the same. Some are independent from the beginning and some are clingers until they grow up. Congratulations and enjoy. Carol & Buddy |

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | Not for nothing but I think that the males are clingier (not sure if that's a word...lol.). Just be patient and give him some time to adjust.

| Right now I feel like crying! He just peed on the floor again and got his feet wet....then tried to climb up my leg....now I have to go shower to wash the pee off...then I have to mop the floor again. His pee also smells alot stronger than Bailey's...is this just a boy thing? |

| Is he drinking enough water? When you are mopping it up take a good look at it. Is it cloudy or clear he just may have a little bladder infection. Then you need to contact your vet |

| He drinks a fair bit of water. I took him to the vet for a health check and vaccination yesterday and he was all clear |

| In my experience I noticed that just because they are Yorkies they do not have the same personality. Timmy was the spunky one that loves to play and Mimi is laid back and cries when she wants her way. She'll be 9 months old next week and she still cries so I could pick her up. She also tries to climb up my leg and sit on my foot and cry. I cannot get her to stop doing that...I ignore her and all she does is cry louder and louder so after a few minutes I give in...and everyone else at home does too. I tried putting her in a crate but she cries until she makes herself sick and throws up...so I stopped that. Potty training takes time....just be patient. I thought mine were never going to get it but now they are pros at the potty training thing. Well I do have to keep Timmy on belly bands now because since we moved into the new house he got into the habit of marking all the time. |

| Oh, it will get better. Just give him time to adjust. just think how scared he must be. I wouldn't worry about him getting too spoiled right now. Just pick him up and cuddle him. Take him potty every 30-45 min., he'll get the hang of it. If you can't watch him just keep him confined so he doesn't pee everywhere. Trim up his feet so he doesn't leave pee paw prints everywhere. Good Luck,

| It does take a while for them to get used to a new environment. That doesn't come overnight. Its to the basics of potty training 101 now. X pen, potty pads, and a crate. |

| Be patient. Hug him, hold him, craddle him if he is asking for it. There is nothing wrong with that. He is just a baby still. My baby took a week to get used to the new environment and to be himself was about 2 weeks. He doesn't cry to be carried all the time but he follows me everywhere. When he feels unsafe and want to be held, I hold him as long as he wants and he is a fine independant boy now that still loves to be cuddled.

| Geeze my boy does that! But I ignore him when he does. I just got him yesterday and ran myself ragged running to him, thinking something was wrong. Turns out whining for him is a habit. He does it with everything: When he's bored, while he's playing, when he wants to cuddle, when he wants to be alone and in his sleep as he wakes up to change positions. Its a habit like whistling for humans. I just kept him in his crate with lots of toys and he stops after a while. If not I make sure he can see my face until he falls asleep. |

I'm happy to have a little one who is devoted and wants to follow me everywhere...Bailey is such a spunk that she just wants to play, not cuddle! A cuddly one will be sweet. | |

Don't worry about it. There are lots of time left for them to learn how to be independant and to be trained. The first week is reserved to bonding only--> not everyone will agree but for me, I just focus on bonding with him in the first week. No training, no disciplining. After all, if he is bonded with you; it will be easier for you to train him down the road. My baby is 6 months and he turned out fine. He listens to me well and he knows I love him but he knows I am his leader, friend and most importantly, his Mommy. I know he feels safe and being loved and when there is anything he is unsure of, he will look up to me for directions which makes me laugh because he looks confused and its funny If you trouble with him pee pee everywhere, you may want to puppy gate an area off and stay there with him so its easier for you to clean

| Both babies are asleep in their crates at the moment. I feel bad putting them in their crates....but they seem happy enough to go to sleep Both puppies are confined to the kitchen (which has floor boards thank god) but they are separated (since Cooper doesnt want to play with Bailey much yet) |

| I learned a new word today -- I don't think I have ever heard anyone use the word "sook" -- found out it basically means a crybaby. Now I know what to call my little 4 month old male. He too is the whiner and needs a little more cuddling attention. He also like to play hard though and I worried he would be too much for the little 2 month old girl we got. Not so. We have to settle Sadie down from getting too rough with Ben all the time. She is a wild woman! But Ben is my sweet sook!
