| question: As youall know I go t a new doggie names Toto. Hes my cairn terrier. and than I have Mason my yorkie. I free feed Mason but i have noticed that if food is left out than Toto will eat it all in one serving....I want Mason to still have his free feed option but i know it says cairns can gain wait really easily so i am trying to control that also. Do you guys have any ideas.....I think when he was at his previous "owner", i use the word loosely. she had ALL these dogs just running so i think he had to pretty much just eat as fast and as much as he could get. When he first came here all he wanted to eat was cat food....so......i dont know..im at a loss.....Masons used to snacking when ever he wants. |

| do you leave food daown all day though or do you have a set time each day? I want to lea ve food down for free feed.... maybe once he realizes thats hes in a loving family and is going to get fed he will chill out and eat like Mason.. hes a really sweet dog and stuff but still really skittish at times but were working on that. I think he was yelled at and smacked when he was little....men i think in particular.....hell usually come right to me but jeff he shys away from...... I still think that none of his pryor homes had the best intentions. I wasnt really looking for another doggoie but i ammm so glad we went out and looked at him....i really feel like i saved his life. |

| Maybe give him some time to adjust and like you said when he knows he is in a loving home and do not need to eat any food he can find as fast as he could, he will mellow down a bit on that? If he gets fat in the meantime, get him to do more exercise will do the trick I think. Just my opinion I am glad you found him and give him a new lease of life. So many people out there thinks a dog is just a thing and treat them badly. I don't know how some people can do those type of things to a dog because I can't.
