| Flossies and Bully Sticks I was curious about the Bully Sticks and Flossies. I had my suspicion that they were all made of bull pizzle (bull penis) but wrote to Merrick to make sure. This is what they said: "Hello Debra, Thanks for inquiring: The Flossies and the Bully Stix are both actually made from the bull pizzle. If I can be of further assistance please le me know. Best regards, Lesa Merrick Pet Care" So, as gross as we may think they are -- the pups sure seem to love them. I understand why so many just say they are made from tendon. It sounds better and not everyone has to know which tendon your Yorkies are chewing on. I gave my DIL a baggie full of the Bully sticks for her pekinese when she picked him up tonight. But I asked her not to tell her whole family what I was sending home with her.

| I knew it! I told my fiance that is what they were, and he still doesn't believe me! Oh well, we aren't chewing on it! |

| Debra, thank you so very much for FINALLY putting the "what are flossies made of" question to bed. So, does that mean that pizzles are really ligaments and tendons in disguise? What a let-down |

| Definition of "pizzle" 1. The penis of an animal, especially a bull. 2. A whip made from a bull's penis. |

| LOL -- I ordered 100 off ebay so I think I will have them around for quite a while. I have noticed that since I have been giving them plenty of things like this to chew on, my throw rugs have not gotten chewed any more. I will still have to replace them, but I decided not to get to worried about it til both puppies are done teething.

| i bought some for my doggies and they loved them. whiskey loves to give my hubby night-night kisses and he said her breath REEKED from her chewing her bully sticks.....then when he found out what they were made of he got this horrified look on his face and told me i wasn't buying those things for the puppies anymore. now i wish i could find a treat they like as much as those but that won't make their breath smell so dang bad!!!

| Grayson loves them and it keeps him chewing for hours, I would rather him chew the sticks than the cords!!

| I ordered some "generic" flossies off of ebay, and lived to regret it. I guess they were the smoked kind, and the closet in which the bag sat just reeked! So did Kasey's breath! But then I decided to try again, and now I only order (non-smoked) Merrick brand Flossies from a pet store. Bought her 100 for her bday last month. Kasey likes nothing more.... She gets so busy with her Flossie, carrying it around and chewing on it - especially at night, for some reason. I've heard they're good for her teeth. I always say they're "bull tendons," and I guess I'm not exactly lying if I keep saying that, right??? Who wants to say, "Oh, I buy bull penises for my little girl."? Ick!

| I don't like to think about what they're made of at all but Muffin LIVES for Flossies!! She can't get enough of them. Biscuit can take them or leave them. One nice thing about Muffin chewing on these all the time is that she never chews on anything she shouldn't and her teeth are almost tartar free too. I think the flossies don't leave that horrendous breath smell like the bully sticks do. Muffin's breath never smells bad after chewing a flossie but when I've given her bully sticks I want to gag because her breath smells like a sewer. |
