| Hi Jamie, and welcome to YT! I'm not in the New York area and can't help you with specific breeders in that area. However I do know that you should do lots of careful research of breeders in your area before you make your decision. You should definately pick a breeder as close to where you live as possible so that you can go see the litter and the sire and dam as well. If possible, interview the breeder, ask for references and do your followup. Read through recent threads about breeders. This forum is a wealth of info. And never never never buy from a pet store. Most are supplied with their dogs through puppy mills. Also I would post on the "for sale or wanted" section of this forum. Good luck.

| Yorkies are not recommended for young children. They are too easily hurt. If your children are older, please buy from a breeder and ask lots of questions about health issues, temperament, whether or not the puppy has been socialized, etc. The place you mentioned sounds like a puppy broker from the name, but I don't know for sure. If they are.....RUN don't walk!

| Hi and welcome to YT, u got some great advice in above posts! be very carful with puppymills, stay FAR away from them!! also if ur children are young i would think twice about getting a fragile yorkie, like my mom calls them ( her little porseline ornaments ) i found dogshows on google here in Holland, maybe u could try to find them on there in ur area.

| Hello and welcome to Yorkie Talk I have to agree with everyone else, Yorkies require a lot of attention, just do plenty of research. There is very helpful information on the board that should help you in making the right decision.
