| Holly found a new home I havent posted here for a while but last I really posted about myself was when we were bringing 4 year old Holly into our home. Holly had never been around a dog in her life and coming into a home with three was nearly impossible for her. My dogs are well adjusted and two have been raised since pups with me. Poor Holly was just so out of place here and was biting the other dogs if they came to close to her or me. She really adored me BUT in order to stay here she had to learn to cope with the other dogs for their safety and that just was not happening. After consulting my vet we figured after 2 months with no improvement that she would probably never really be suited for our family. I placed an ad for Holly and talked to a dozen people, most with other dogs. The ones with dogs were a definate no...even though they didnt want to take no for an answer. I just felt she was suited ONLY for a single dog household. I finally found the perfect couple. Scott called me and I could hear the same sort of excitement in him that I have for my babies. He has a lovely wife, gorgeous home and HUGE fenced in back yard. Well tonight I took Holly up there to stay permanently. As you can see in the pics Scott is tickled pink!! We even went shopping together for Holly tonight. His wife is working tonight but he wanted to have everything just right for Holly...spoil her too much...and wanted me to be a part of it. He is such an AWESOME person and Holly couldnt have found a nicer couple. I know she will love ALL the attention...although we both cried for each other as I drove off...luckily Scott and I will keep in close touch for a while and I will get email updates and can visit her anytime we would like. So in the end it all worked out well for Holly and she truly has found her forever home!! Dawn |

I had almost the same problem with my cosmo..he lived with us for a year without any other dogs to share the love and attention with. Then we got Minnie and Lillian..and he started turning into a total grouch lol..luckily he accepted it though..he still doesnt like lillian but he doesn't attack her as much as he used to. | |

| Thanks for your support in my decision guys. Last night was a little harder than I thought. I couldnt stop thinking about Holly and how she must be feeling. I hope she is ok. Im going to call Scott later this morning to see how her first night went. I trust my instincts for sure and my gut tells me she is in the best place possible and I do have a feeling that even if she is missing us a part of her is probably very relieved to be away from my dogs and her stresses are less there. One thing for sure that I know...Holly loves PEOPLE..she HATES dogs but adores human contact..I think she thought she was one of us lol...Im sure the looks she gave me said "what in the world are those animals doing" as she watched my dogs wrestle and clean each other all day...so ya today might be hard for Holly but I doubt it will last for long. | Dawn, I personally appreciate what you have done for Holly!! So many times the animal's welfare/feelings aren't the priority in a situation like this. I am so happy that you put so much effort into finding the perfect forever home for Holly, I know it was very difficult for you! Please update us as you can. I love happy endings too!!

| You are an awesome mom to be able to do what is best for your baby even if it's difficult for you. Scott sounds like a wonderful daddy and Holly will be in 7th heaven

| Aw, I LOVE a happy ending to a "rehoming" story! I'm a firm believer that all dogs are not suited to all families, and vice versa. No matter how good your intentions, trying to force a "fit" where there really isn't one just ends up stressing out everyone involved, including the poor doggie. You did the right thing! Two of our dogs came to us because their former owners just weren't able to meet their needs. And TRUST ME, they have adapted to their new home and family. There's also something great to me about them getting their "HOLLY" at Christmas time! Sort of makes it extra special and symbolic!
