| Oliver may be part bloodhound! He learned something neat the otherday while playing fetch. I would pretend to throw his squeeker and then when he wasn't looking I would hide it (under my blanket, on the couch, near the fireplace, etc.) and then I would tell him to "find it" and he would go off sniffin around with his nose stuck to the floor looking for his toy. (there were other toys out on the floor but he wanted to "find" this one) He didn't give up either! For 5 minutes (with plenty of distractions like the roomies coming downstairs and the back porch being left open and food cooking in the kitchen and he even took a few second break to drink some water and go to the bathroom) but he kept looking around for his toy and sniffing everywhere. Once he saw it he was SO happy and would lunge for it to start playing again. It was cute so I thought I would share. Any else's baby part bloodhound here? haha

| Both my girls are. We play hide & seek all the time. When they are distracted I'll go & hide. Once they notice I'm gone they come looking for me. I've even hidden in the closet. They both sniff me out & start barking when they find me. They love that game. |

| That's so funny! You'll never be able to hide anything from him, even when you need to

| All dogs are part bloodhound!! Did any of you see "In the Womb" this last week on TV. It followed the development of three different animals from conception to birth and then some. Anyway it said that dogs have 200 million scent sensors - we (humans) have 5 million. We used to hide a hershey bar that had never been unwrapped to see if my pup could find it. Once we sat it on top of a picture frame - so, it was pretty high up - we let my pup in the room and she started sniffing around and before long she was on the sofa - trying to get up to the picture because she smelled the still-wrapped candy bar up there. There is really nothing a dog can't find by smell - if they're looking for it. Carol Jean |

| We play hide and seek almost every day. I love to challenge them. I bring them into the kitchen, and tell them to 'sit-stay'. I show them the toy that I'm holding. I then go into the other room and hide the toy - either under the couch cushions, behind the desk, under a pillow, etc. They wait patiently until I say "Go get it!", and then they charge inside and overturn everything until they find it. We do this several times each day, and they have a ball!
