| Please pray for my little baby I found this forum a few weeks before I bought my baby and just love all of the support and information that has come my way. I picked up my puppy on Monday night (of last week) December 4th...he seemed just fine but by the second day was not eating. I had a vet appointment and he said he was fine just keep his blood sugar up..by the next day we had to rush him back to the vet and he instructed us further..well, on Friday night he began to throw up and have diarrhea so I took him to the emergency vet clinic and they told me that to find out what was wrong it would cost me around 2,000$$ and they instructed me it would be best to put him down...which I couldn't bare to do so they said they would charge me to keep him on fluids and keep getting his bloodsugar back up which eventually happened..emotionally distraught, I took him home and fed him every 2 hours and continued to give him Nutri-Cal...well, Sunday night I talked to the breeder and told her alot of vets and breeders (on this site) recommend I take him back to his mother a few more weeks..he was 8 weeks and right under a 1 lb. So I took him back there on Sunday and he actually ate a few bites of food but since has been sick again with diarrhea, I almost feel that he was better off with me force feeding him vs him with his mom who isn't nursing...but I keep hearing that if he will pull through he is better off there than under so much stress with his feedings... I do not know what to do, I am so in love with him already and we have bonded so much being together 24 hours a day since I got him... Just please pray for my little guy..he needs lots of prayers! |

| I will pray for your baby. I cant believe that vet said to put him down because hes having low blood sugar problems. Alot of young pups have low blood sugar problems. It sounds like to me he was too lazy to treat him. Here is a good formula for low blood sugar problems that someone posted on here http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=58036

| Also has your vet checked to see if he has coccidia it is also common in young pups and would explain the diahrea and vomiting. It is also very treatable

| Ya he does have coccidia which we found out at his first appointment the first day I had him which we got Albon (?) to treat but on the following day, when we had the first blood sugar episode..the vet said to discontinue the use until he was eating normal and not so sick and weak... |

| Ya that is him...T.O.-it stands for ticked off because of our feedings he would be so irritated with me and try to run off..I miss him so much and this is only my second day without him to tend to...I just want him to come back home so I can be with him and he can have the life he deserves..I hate that he is sick! I wish I could take away what he is going through. |

| I have a candle going for you little one, and will keep him/her in my prayers. When you do get him/her back, consider changing vets. |

| Honey I am so sorry, I know how bad you must be feeling. I will pray for this little one and when he comes back to you, you need to get a new Vet. I think his advice is not only heartless but seemingly cruel and unjust to you and your baby. I will look foward to hearing that he is doing great! |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Praying for your little one. Cali was very ill a few days after I got her and continued to be sick on and off. I just fed her every 2-3 hours chicken because that is what she would eat and kept her on her ALbon, and antibiotics for Kennel cough. It was a rough start but it was well worth it. I would question a vet that would suggest putting a puppy down because of loww blood sugar. It was very expensive but I took her in for the least little thing just to be sure. I hope you have a good outcome.

| WoW !!!! Put Your baby down for low sugar is soooooooooo crazy I would find a new Vet for sure.I pray for Your new little guy and as hard as it may be,back at His old home with mom is best ! Even if She is not feeding Him.The stress of a new home was just to much Back at His old home is less stressful and He is familiar.Just Be real patient and wait a few more weeks and try again,I promise it will be sooooo well worth it As hard as it is. Good Luck and Please keep Us posted
