| 1. Who is the doctor doing the surgery -- your regular vet will do the surgery and a surgery tech will also be in there watching the vital signs and assisting with the surgery 2. When do i bring him in for bloodwork -- you can either take him in a couple of days before the surgery to get bloodwork done or you can get the bloodwork done the morning of the surgery...it's just a matter of personal preference. 3. what kind of anesthesia is best -- Isoflourine gas....talk to your vet and make sure they do not use a Barbituate injection or IV anesthesia. Neutering only takes a couple of minutes so your little one will not need to be under anesthesia that long. Therefore, Isoflourine Gas is definately preferred over IV anesthesia. |

| I am a worrier!!!! This was scarey but my vet insisted on putting the tube down Chewy's thraot. He said some dogs throw up while under and it is how they keep them from choking...Chewy is small...(They all are) 4 pounds... and so I told the vet I think he has collapsted treak...So I made sure they used a really small tube so it would not injure his throat! I was so scared they wrote it on the chart...(I saw it at one point!) I had the blood work done ahead so I knew it was done and they had it in their hands before doing the surgery! I told my vet, you may do this every day but I don't and i am scared to death my baby won't make it. I told him he would have to put me in a straight jacket if any thing happened to my little tiny baby... They took really good are of him and called me when it was over to let me know everything was fine....
