Venus getting Spayed today Please send prayers our way. I've known the vet tech since she was 15. She knows not to give her the wrong stuff. She said she could do it today, or I'd have to wait till Feb, when she gets back from her spay, lol. Since I was barely awake, and knew Venus hadn't ate or drank, she said today or wait till Feb. I'm so scared she'd come into heat by then. She is 6 months and weighed 3.1 lbs. When I was filling out paperwork, I didn't know whether or not to check the one for pain injection, but I did. Hope I made the right decision. I know she'll be in pain. Also getting her microchipped! I had one bad scare with Adonis once.... I've seen several folks here loose their yorkie too. I'm scared. They wanted to keep her overnight, but I said "no". I have a crate here, and I'll feel better with her here with me. Hope I made the right decisision. Oh, please tell me I made all the right decisions. I had nobody there from YT to tell me about pain med injections. Oh, did I mention I'm scared? I almost cried leaving her. God help me and them when its Adonis's turn!

Yes you mentioned it several times that your scared. Calm down and try to relax alittle. Your going to make yourself sick. She will be fine. You left her in the hands of someone you trust. Your also doing the right thing for her. I hope the day flies by for you and her surgery goes perfect. Take care and post to us when your baby is recovered. Good luck, Carol & Buddy

| Try not to be scared. You are doing the right thing and i am sure Venus will be fine. Are they going to call you after the surgery is done? Both of mine had the pain med injection and I also asked for pain meds to take home. I think it also good to get them microchipped when they ae spayed. She will just need quiet time when she gets home and you might want to get a onsie to put on her. I will keep Venus in my prayers today and update us when they are done with her surgery

I was scared when Maizee went in too, but Venus will be fine. I visited Maizee every second I could while she was in there. The vet in my town wouldn't release her until two days after her surgery! I was going insane without her! Good luck with everything and I'll be praying for both of you

Pain Meds?? My vet said that she dosen't give pain meds unless its absolutely necessary, she adds some pain med into the anesthesia....Widget lazed around the first day. but has been running around ever since, seems not to have bothered her at all, she's now 8 days past her surgery with stitches still,,,,but I was worried myself, so know what you're going thru,,,,,hope she is fine now

Spraying Good luck with everything. I am also scared to even to think about taking my baby for that. I keep on delaying it. I am at the crossroads and don't know what to do. I heard that it changes them forever. I heard that they are not as playful anymore. I also heard that they start barking and sometimes peeing at different places. Is it true? I would like to get some thought from girls' parents that have gone through the process. Thank you.

I will be keeping her in her crate tonight I can see me now, sleeping on the floor beside the crate. Thank you all so much for the reassurance! I sure need that today. I'm so afraid to get away from the telephone! I even set my timer to go off when I can call to see about her. I know there are things I could do in my yard to speed up this day, but afraid to get away from the phone. And I couldn't hear the phone if I was blowing leaves, even if it was attached to my hip

Venus's crate DID fit on my bed!!!! Glad I'm single, and sleep alone (besides Adonis on the bed). She has a huge crate for such a small dog. I still keep part sectioned off. She did fine, other than just sleeping the anesthesia off. Last night I fed her water through a dropper. She was just groggy from the anesthesia. I know I wasn't supposed to feed her food yet, so I gave some neutra-cal about 3 times last night. I also (don't tell my vet) let her have about 6 bites of her food, when she perked up once. I've let her out of the crate today to see how she will act. She hopped in Adonis's bed, now Adonis is on her bed. And she ate some when we first came in the kitchen today. I was handed some great written instructions from the vet, with an emergency # on it yesterday. I do better with written instructions than oral. She seems still a little groggy this morning and just laying around, but much better than yesterday. She even ate some food. So far, she's not wanted to jump on anything yet, but the day is still young. Vet said let her heal a week before jumping and climbing. Thank you all so much for all the prayers and well wishes!
