traveling Hi All, I been reading up on things that I missed while I was gone. As always some good info. We had to make a quick trip to W.Va. My mother passed away and we darted out the door to drive it instead of flying. The cost of air travel on short notice is bad. would have cost us $160.00 per dog (2) round trip. Plus we had to be sure there were no other dogs on board due to them only allowing 2 dogs in the cabin per flight. I am so happy with all the different motels that we stopped at on our journey. Even if they have a sign posted 'no pets' they always allowed our 2 yorkies. Ahia, being only about 6 mo. old and hyper as all get out, did really well on the trip. much better than I expected. Buckeye always travels well. He is laid back and snuggles up to me no matter what. He is the one who uses his charm to get us places. Ahia is the one who uses her charm to practically get us thrown out. I had to leave them in the motel room for about an hour while we went to the dining room for a breakfast and she barked the whole time! They are both very happy to be home.

I am so sorry to hear of your mother's passing. I know your little guys are a comfort when they snuggle up to you, so I'm glad they were able to be with you. Gentle hugs, Mary Ellen

Yes, condolences to your family. Good information to know, I thought pets travelling was free if they fit in a carrier? Yes, cute little Yorkies always get away with things like 'no pets'! :P

| So sorry for your loss. We shall keep you in our prayers!! Yorkies are "keys" to lots of places that aren't pet friendly ... isn't it amazing what these sweet little faces can do? Puppy kisses!!

thank you thank you all very much. It as a tough one to handle. I thought I was ready for mom to leave us but in the very end I was not. She had alzheimers and was in lots of pain since she broke her hip months back. She knew no one including her self and It is so very hard to let her go. I have been crying over her for several years and you would think it would be done with by now. any way........ thank you all very much for you warm words. bless you all.

Again, I am late on my posts (still recovering from surgery, they say about a 2 more months and I will be up to speed - uggh!!) However, I am sorry for the loss of your Mom, I truly am sorry. Glad to hear your babies traveled well, and thank you for the flight info. I heard the airlines charge a fee but was not aware of how many dogs were allowed on a flight. Heck, add more dogs, could be a real interesting flight, ha ha!! A little doggie flight party!! Were you allowed to take your dogs out of the kennel while on the flight? Schatzie has yet to be in a hotel yet, that will come next spring. I am thinking she will bark, so already plan on putting the tv on and the do not disturb sign on the door. I know, I will never travel without her so Im hoping she will adjust well. Glad your charmers do their job well, LOL

So sorry to hear about your Mother. I lost mine 3 years ago and it still hurts. Moms can't be replaced. But on the good note, glad that your babies were there with you, they are so comforting when they are around. My two are the same way, Andy likes to bark and Barney is just laid back. Haven't tried the hotel scene yet, just camping ...Theresa
