| Trust My Miss Tricksie is 3 months old and I keep her in a play pen most of the time and feel so guilty. Have started taking her out several times a day, first just in my bedroom so that I could watch every move, she is like a streak of lightening, this past week started letting her out but shutting all doors except to my bedroom and she runs there first but then starts investigating the house and it is big so it is a lot of work to keep up with her, of course, she wants to chew everything. What a transformation I am going through from a Maltese to a tiny yorkie but I love her so very much and appreciate all of the info you guys are giving me. Thanks: |

| Chewy is 71/2 months and I don't leave him down stairs if I need to go up... I bring him with me and gate off the hallway so it is like a big play pen...He does come in my room but I hate when he goes under my bed because I am always worried he might find a pin or anything he shouldnt have! I need to have my hubby help me move the bed so I can make sure there is nothing he can get! He still gets into trouble and chews every thing...You can always tie his leash to you and bring him with you where ever you go..I have done this before and it works good!

| Why don't you try putting her in her harness and tying the leash to your belt while you go about your regular housework, etc. Then she could explore a little bit more, be with you more often, but never out of sight. Just a suggestion. |

| I'm guessing that she takes off bc she has been penned up in a little space and wants to get out and strech her legs. I've know quite a few people who have had big dogs that they've kept in kennels and as soon as they would let them out they would bolt. We would keep our big dog running loose in our yard (we have an underground fence) and when ever we would take her out of the yard she would stay right by us. I'm quessing the same will go with your pup. We let ours run the living room, dining room and kitchen. Of coarse we make sure there is nothing for them to chew on and then shut all the bedroom and bathroom doors. They would run around for a little bit, but after they had checked everything out, they would just be content on laying down and napping. I say let her roam eventually she will slow down when everything isn't new to her anymore. Save the play pen for at night.
