| Too Attached! I almost feel guilty writing this. I took Keira's name off of my signature because my daughter says she isn't MY dog. LOL I have to agree. We have had her since she was around 4-5 weeks old and even tho I was the one who took care of her the most in the begining I am still not attached to her yet! THis little thing is running all over the place barking like crazy and Diesel loves every minute of it! However, when it comes right down to it Diesel is my baby! Does anyone else ever feel this way? I swear I don't think even another Yorkie could take his place. I know I am not the only one who feels this way... At least I hope not. I almost feel bad for feeling this way.

| I think this is understandable. We have three dogs, and all the members of our family love different ones of them to different degrees, for different reasons. Does Keira have SOME person in the house that she is attached to, and vice versa? I think it would be sad if NOone had a special love for her, and then maybe you'd need to rehome her. Otherwise, I don't think you have to feel guilty....there are just some animals (as with people!) that we "click" with and that really capture our hearts.

| Right, It isn't that I don't like her. She just isn't "my" dog. She favors my daughter and sometimes my DH. Afterall she is my DD's dog. We have a Shepherd and he is my Dh's dog. At night the Shepherd sleeps between my DH's legs and Diesel sleeps between mine. Keira sleeps in her baby playpen in my DD's room. She is still way to little to sleep in the bed with her. We each have our "own" dogs. I just kinda thought I would be more attached to her seeing as that she is so little. Trust me... She lacks for nothing and she has more than any of the other dogs(sweaters, toys, and so on)because she is the baby. I didn't mean for this to sound negative.

| You don't sound negative. Like everyone else said, usually everyone in the family gets attached to a different animal. I know in my house, I am way too attached to Maizee, yet my dad could never part with my cat , and my brother with our other dog. My mom is the sour one in the family and doesn't like animals! I can't believe it. . . but it's not that we don't love the other animals, those are just our individual babies! |

| I love my dogs equally - but during my lifetime - there was one dog that I especially loved. I think it is because I was single and had her for so long - just her and me. I lost her and now I have two dogs - and honestly, I don't love either one more than the other. I can tell you though that my father had a dog that I never did like too much. It was a loveable old dog, but it drove me nuts. It had habits that drove me up the wall. It snored and made all sorts of snorting noises all the time - and laid around licking its balls and stomach all the time - and making all sorts of noise when it did that. Poor old thing. I wasn't around it when it was a puppy and while it was younger. I just ended up being around it when it was old and bothersome. I still feel guilty about the way I felt toward that dog. Not good! I'm sure all of us have been around a dog now and then that we just weren't crazy about - although most of us would love any dog in the world....and should..... Carol Jean |

| truthfully Well, it wasn't my choosing, it was our pups choosing. Cricket chose me, and Bubba chose my hubby. When he is away, Bubba gets plenty of love, but acts totally different when his Daddy gets home. It's hilarious. He acts like no one gave him one kiss or hug all day!! Cricket on the other hand is always on me. Even in the bathroom, she tries to get on my lap. They both adore my dd, and she loves to Play!! They love it. When they get tired, Cricket comes to me, and Bubba goes to his Daddy. I love them both, but feel closer to my little girl Cricket! |

| I was only attached to one other dog like this that I can remember. It was when I was in high school. I had a black Chow/Lab mix and she was my baby.I can even remember picking her out. I squatted down to play with all of the pups and she just kinda stood back all alone. It broke my heart. I went and picked her up and just knew she was the one that I wanted. She would ride all over the place with me. I can even remember getting ready for work once and I couldn't find her and just panicked. I go out side and she had jumped in my truck and was sitting in the drivers side waiting to go! SHe lived to be about 13. We have ownd several dogs since then most we adopted at an older age. I loved them all but none quite compared to her until now.

| I could have a house full of dogs...and truely love them and do anything for them...however...my Sparks and I have a special relationship. We are very bonded...like he is my right hand. I believe he is one of my angels or like a soulmate. So, yes I can love others and spoil them but they would never be my Sparks. suzie |

| We used to have a number of dogs at a different time, many of them were when I was really young and I don't quite remember much. The 2 most recent dog that I had before Siu Pao were adopted by me but they weren't really my dog. My black Spitz prefers my sister and my old Shih-Tzu prefers my mom. I love them both to bits though. Now I have Siu Pao. He loves me more than hubby and my hubby prefers my budgie anyways and so does my budgie.
