| Knitting Patterns For Puppies Any one know how many stitches I should do? For yorkies, chihuahuas, and beagles? (Making everyone a Christmas present this year!)

| Are you knitting dogs or sweaters for dogs? Gracie is 5 lbs and I used 26 stitches with size 6mm needles for the back and I think 16 for the chest plate.

| The smallest my book has starts with 26 stitches. It will fit small breed dogs less than 10 lbs. The 26 stitches with 7mm needles is what I used for Gracie and it fit perfectly. I would suggest maybe 12-15 stitches with 7mm needles. You could also look at some dog clothing sites and see how the sizing goes for the tiniest clothes, then adjust your gauge to fit those measurements.
