| Is Romeo a jumper? If so it might be too low. My two arent jumpers and that would contain them just fine

Yorkie Lover Donating Member | We thought about 3 & 4 feet fences.....but decided on the 4 foot fence "just in case". But ours is not solid, there are small gaps between the slats but small enough that little Magic could not get through. I like the look of the short and more open fence. (Until we got the girls our backyard was not fenced at all and we loved the open look!)

| If Romeo is a jumper than he will be able to jump up and '"claw" his way over. I put a very cute picket fence around my little log cabin and my sweet little LacyBug (my first Yorkie love may she forever rip) would go through the holes between the pickets..... Good luck! |

| When Sunshine is in heat Rocky can jump over 2 stacked baby gates. That's 4 ft. Straight up and over without touching the top gate! We now have a top for our 4x4 pen. He's 5 lbs. Maggie can jump up into her daddy's arms. She 7lbs. She can also jump higher than that to catch her frisbie. Good Luck!

| Here's our experience. We started with a two foot fence, and Roxi just hopped over it no problem. So we put in a 4 footer and she would jump up as high as she could and "grab" on to the fence and then climb the rest of the way over. She does the same with baby gates in the house. If we want to keep her contained we stack 3 in the door way so they reach almost the top of the door. If he is a jumper and a climber, I'm thinking privacy fence.

| We have about a 4 foot fence and one night a yellow lab jumped our fence and went after Maddie. Thank goodness I was right there...he landed right next to me and scared me half to death! If I hadn't been there, I think Maddie would have been history. So...the fence isn't only to keep your dog in, but to keep others out. I wish ours was higher because that yellow lab lives a short distance from us and I always worry about when he gets loose the next time.

| Good point, Connie! I hadn't thought of that. We're house hunting, and found several homes with fenced yards, some high, some low-but I'll keep in mind that it needs to not only keep Emma IN, but other dogs OUT. |

| Chainlink is best You can get it tight, the holes are very small. Thats what we use, we have a tiny yorkie & she cant escape. Reasonably priced & pretty easy to install. |
