| You are obsessing a bit. Remember the old saying "If mom ain't happy, ain't nobody happy"? That holds true for these little dogs as well. They are so connected to their humans that our moods affect their moods. I've really seen this in my Roxie. You want to take care of Royce and make sure that he's happy? Take care of his mom and make yourself happy. Look at your priorities, find your balance, take care of you and love your baby. I'm sure he's fine, ,make sure you're fine too!

| Aw I sympathise with you, I think the advice above is brilliant and I totally agree. But I to love my 2 obsessively and feel guilty going to work! My solution is on days I work I make no other plans to be out the house without my babies. When at work I pay a dog walker I know and trust to take my dogs out for a walk twice in the day for an hour each time. Days I have a day off I always try to go somewhere they love for a long walk like the beach. I also spend time in the day playing with them. I also drive my family nuts when I am invited out somewhere and think first of the dogs (how long will they be alone, was I working that day) before I say yes. I do think about them when I am out and HATE to be out at something Im not enjoying thinking I could be home with my pups. I take my dogs everywhere I can with me. I am crazy but happy LOL!!!! Ruthx

| I work from home and spend pretty much most of my day with my Yorkie and *I* still feel guilty when I don't pay him 100% attention all day. If Jake (my boy) had it his way, I would be pandering to his needs 24/7. If truth be told he's probably very spoilt and gets way more attention than most dogs, but he still has a talent for making me feel bad. Do what makes YOU happy, he will fit into your schedule. |

| I got Monday 6 months after my husband unexpectedly passed away ... I spent every day with her ... when it came time for me to go back to teaching, I had 2nd thoughts.... decided to take a sabbatical and then retired early so I could be with her .... as my life once revolved about my family, it now revolves about Monday (she is my sunshine) ... I also worry when I leave her with my daughter (who is in her 20s) .... so I have gotten a discreet carrier and do my best to take her with me most of the time. She has gotten used to being home alone when I go to the dentist ... but thatz about it ... I race home ... Itz been 3.75 years and I am still obsessive .... good luck, and yes, the puppie stores get more of my money than the "my" stores.

Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | Wow, this thread seems to have struck a nerve in some of us. I can totally relate, but I agree with the others that Ladyhawk's advice is right on. I set minimum standards for Yorkie care: Two walks a day and no more than 5 hours alone. Beyond that, I try not to obsess. They really are dogs and have an amazing capacity to adapt to the situation. Good luck.

| I'm somehow relieved to know that i'm not the only one who feels this way . I think i will start looking for a job in companies where you are allowed to take your pet with you to work even if that implies moving to another city in canada or moving to the states ...Google allows workers to bring their dogs to work isnt that amazing !!! Or I will fing a part time job ....As for the dig sitter/ walker i absolutely dont trust anyone so that's an option for me ...And the funniest thing yesterday i went to y neighbor's place and of course I took Royce with me andmy neighboris not into dogs and he threw this to me " you take more care of your dog than of yourself |
