| Hey fella's... Hey guys, im newer here. I have been here for like a couple days, but my account hasn't been working. But now it is! So yeah, I have a yorkie of my own, her name is Nina. yeah she's about eight months old and she's eight pounds. Kinda weird that she's that heavy, but anyway. I was wondering why her hair hasn't grown very long. I know I should be patient, but it kind of looks like her hair won't grow that long, it is still fine though, because I'm not going to hate her for it. I'm just wondering. um here are some pictures of her...just some that I took over time. you could probably tell that I'm upsessed with taking pictures, of my dog, and in general this is the first day we got her http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v156/946655/tm11.jpg when I made a headband sort of thing for her http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...55/HBNina1.jpg when we got her for christmas, she was eating the tree http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v156/946655/Nina3.jpg christmas again http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v156/946655/Nina.jpg haha we got bored and she was sleeping http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...omandNina7.jpg same things http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...omandNina4.jpg yeah I'm through anyway, if you guys know anything about her hair growing, I'd like to know...thanks -Carla *sorry if they are big Last edited by carla; 05-08-2005 at 01:55 PM. |

| Hey Carla and Nina! Welcome to Yorkie talk! Glad you found us! I am a relatively new yorkie owner but I do know that all yorkies look different. There are many different kinds of coats, lonf, short, silky, course or cottony. Did you see Nina's perents? What did their coats look like? |

| Hi Carla and Nina. Welcome to Yorkie talk. Nina looks adorable, too cute. I love your pics. Like Socalyorkielvr said, there are different types of coat. Some grew faster than others. Gucci's hair seems to being grown slowly also. But then again I had to shave her when we got her because it turned she had ringworms from the breeders. I found out later on that the other pups on her littler also got the ringworm. Anyhow, her hair has growi back but still short. Also her hair is more cottony than silky. |

| Nina looks adorable!!! As for the hair, I think you just have to be patient! I see yorkies all the time who are younger than Esme and have longer hair. I guess they are all different just like people! We are very glad to have you here on yorkietalk!

| Welcome to you and Nina. She is sure a sweety. I wound'nt worry too much about her hair growing on a slower than what you are expecting. My Schatzie's hair grows slow too but it is growing. She also is 8 pounds and just turned a year old. Hope you enjoy YT.

| Welcome to YT. we are a diverse group but we have one thing in common-we all love our Yorkie babies. I have no idea how to make pics smaller but, I do know Yorkies and their unique ways. As an acquaintance in Australia said "It matters not a twit the looks as long as you love the dog" and it looks as if you do love that baby..Hang around and you will see we have babies with any or all the same problems and concerns you are having.... |

| She looks a lot like my Leila! She's also a big girl (11 lbs) and has a similar coat to yours, at least by looking at the pics. Her hair grew to a certain point, then kinda stopped. I can put a flat clippie in it, but no bows or top knots without her looking hopelessly goofy, poor thing. I would be patient, their hair changes for over a year sometimes. |

| Welcome, Carla. Your little Nina is a sweetheart! Don't worry about her hair, it seems to change a bzillion times over a few months!
