| Vomitting all night! Nala has been vomitting all night last night and part of the day today. I have noticed just yesterday that her feces had worms in it. How can I treat it? What do I treat it with? I'm very worried about her and I don't know what to do. The lady whom I got her from says that she gives Nala heartworm preventative once a month but I think she is totally lying to me. I know she is my neighbor and all but when I asked about shot records she says she administer the shots herself but doesn't know what she gave the poor dog. Also, should I keep her away from Buttercup? Is it possible that he can get worms from Nala? |

| Take her to the vet Take her to the vet with a stool sample immediately. Keep her away from your other pets as worms do spread. I would bleach everything in site. You arent sure what type of worms they are, so to be sure, you definately need to go to the vet asap.

| Gosh, you might want to get him to the vet I know it's Thanksgiving, so that would mean the ER vet. I wouldn't trust your neighbor's word on giving the shots herself, since she can't even tell you WHAT she administered Most folks that are knowledgeable enough to give their animals shots should know what they were. I'd be afraid that he had Parvo or something. Not meaning to frighten you, I know you're already worried. I'd keep the pets seperated until you do know what's going on. I hope that someone with more experience will be along shortly to advise.

| Oh how sad! I would take her to the vet asap. You'll probably have to go to an emergency vet, but I think it would totally be worth it! I'm hoping she gets better soon.

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | If you are unsure if your yorkie has been treated - VET ASAP ...heartworms are nothing to fool around with - it's a horrible treatment once they get them - you want her worm free so I think she needs to go see the vet right away - just do everything you can and PLEASE dont rely on others to take care of your dog - YOU are in charge now & she needs medical attention.... Worms just freak me out - and yes they can pass them on to other dogs !! GOOD LUCK !!! |
