| I am super-bummed today... Hi everyone. This is my very first post. I have been reading over all the different threads and learning alot silently, while waiting anxiously until the day that I was an official yorkie mom. I was already thinking about posting her picture up here, and everybody congratulating me on what a beautiful girl I had. Which was supposed to be this Friday (the day after Thanksgiving). But now it has all fell through, and I am super sad. To make a long story short, I located a breeder locally here in Atlanta, Georgia. She was very nice, and always answered any questions I may have had. She had the cutest little girl yorkie available, and told me I could have her! Alright! As the day got closer, I got all this stuff for her homecoming, and told my two children that our baby was coming finally!! Everybody was more than ready for the pitter-patter of little feet around the house again. (Incidentally, we recently gave our shih-tzu of five years to my Dad in Los Angeles. My mother just passed from Breast Cancer, and we all felt that our little Payton was the perfect companion for my Dad. Especially since we are all the way in Georgia). Today, my breeder called and told me that there was a problem My baby had developed an eye infection (possibly from a recent vaccination, neither she nor her Vet was sure yet), and she was giving me the opportunity to either still get the puppy, or to pass. After long thought, I decided to past. I wasn't sure if I was up to acquiring a sick pup from the get-go. And since I don't have much experience with this breed..........I just thought that that would be best. But now, I am so heartbroken!!! I have no baby now!! I haven't even told my children, that's gonna be even more tears. I am just sooo frustrated and mad and bummed and sad and all the rest of that stuff. Sucks. So, with all that being said, I guess I am now going to ask if anyone has any reputable breeders in the Atlanta area (I don't think I could stand to have a puppy shipped unless the flight was very short) or somewhere within 100 miles of Atlanta, that may have a yorkie girl available? I'd appreciate your thoughts/help. Help!!!

| Yorkie Puppies I PM'd you as well.......Good Luck in your search. I was very Lucky to have 3 strong & healthy puppies, it's very stressful and expensive to get an un-healthy one to begin with. This Breed can either be very delicate or as strong as an Ox. It's basically a testament to good bloodlines/pedigree it's sad to think you get what you pay for, b/c in the long run you end up paying the Vet. instead of the Breeder? Anything can happen and usually does. |

| I use to be a vet tech and an eye infection is not much of anything - usually caused from the other pups romping around one anther and probably got scratched in the eye by a littermate. I would check into this more and ask to speak to the vet. If it is just a scratch very easy to treat with drops and better in a few days. T. |

| You know, today after thinking about it, I think she was discouraging the sale. Probably because I am a novice at this, and she was probably offered more money. I've talked to someone today who basically told me that the eye infection was not a big deal. But I already told her no for the puppy. I am so mad at myself, but oh well. If she would do something like that, maybe it wasn't meant to be anyway.

| I had a similar thing happen to me along the way on my search. I could sense something wasn't quite right near the end of my wait and I believe the breeder decided to keep the girl I had picked or sell her for more cash. I think a good breeder would not want to send you a puppy with an eye infection and would let you know what happened, but would just treat it and give her to you when it has cleared up (a week later than planned or something). No ultimatum of sick puppy or no puppy. Anyway, good luck on your search!

BANNED FOR NOT MAILING PRODUCTS PURCHASED | I wish you would have waited and discussed this with a vet, how sad, I'm so sorry for you, but it sounds like you just want to make sure you get a healthy pup and I dont blame you on that one, good luck in your search in finding the pawfect little girl for your family! |

| I know I shouldn't speak too soon but... It looks like there may have been a miscommunication and it looks like I'll be able to get my baby!!! I don't want to get too excited, so I'll just leave it at that for now, and I'll keep y'all posted.

| I am so happy for you!! If you have any questions I am sure she will let you talk to her vet. Let us know how it goes. It sounds like your breeder is just trying to keep you updated and well informed (about the eye or anything). I would be very thankful that I breeder would not hide anything from me. I will keep my fingers crossed! T. |
