| Feeling Kind of Bad Tonight I don't know if anybody else feels the way I'm feeling tonight but I'm really down in the dumps. Lately Muffin has been avoiding me, sometimes cowering around me and even running away from me. Of course I'm the one who gives her the weekly baths she HATES. I'm the one who puts those darling doggie outfits on her that she HATES. I'm the one who takes her to the groomer who she's not too crazy about. I'm the one who combs out those nasty little knots in her fur, I'm the one who just sprayed Petzlife in her mouth for the first time tonight and REALLY pissed her off! Yes, I'm the mean old lady who has to do all the bad things to take care of her little girl while Daddy gets to just be Mr. Nice guy because he gets the FUN job of feeding her everyday. And where's there's food, there's love..... Muffin is the absolute apple of my eye and I love her with all of my heart. I shower her with love and affection all the time but because I have to do the things to her that she hates, it seems she doesn't trust me anymore and I'm really sad about it. I don't want her to flinch and cower when I put my hand on her head to pet it or for her ears to lower when I approach her. I want those beautiful Yorkie kisses instead of her cute little Yorkie nose in the air! Sleepless in Chicago |

| AWWWWWWWWWW I'm so sorry. that would make me sad too. Maybe you could give her some treats. I'm the one that does everything for mine, good things and bad things, and they can't get enough of me. Have you scolded her for any reason? Maybe your movements are just too quicK. give her some tummy rubs. |

| No, I don't scold her too often and she gets loads of tummy rubs, kisses, pets and coochie coos! As a matter of fact, she's laying here next to me in bed right now asleep and I'm rubbing her belly while I'm reading posts on YT. Maybe she's just going through a faze right now. I sure hope that's all it is! Thanks for your reply! |

| OMG I am feeling the same way I was just grousing to my husband about how Luna curls up with him and looks at him with hero-worship in her eyes. Meanwhile, I'm the bad guy that does all the necessaries, vet, detangling, eye goop removal, etc. It was the same way with Starr. Daddy's girls all the way! Hubby said I should get a boy dog, but I bet he'd love Daddy more too

| Yep. 3-4 days of petting, no flossing, no dressing, no combing, no stress to her........nothing but attention......and good treats on the side. You will be her hero! |

I Hopes so too. It could be even something you did unknowingly, like dropped something that frightened her, or made a fast move or whatever. they make the strangest associations. If something happens while they are doing something, they associate the two together. | |

| Okay everyone. For the next few days Mommy is going to be the HERO and not the villan!! She will probably look like a rag muffin (tee hee, get the pun!) if I don't brush her for more than a day or two, but what the heck...it will be worth it if she stops thinking I'm miss Meanie! I guess I'll take her for an extra walk each day too. She's gotta love that RIGHT???? |

| I wouldn't let the brushing go... matts hurt and if she gets a few she is gonna remember! But you could give more treats while brushing, maybe a new chew toy while brushing...! Hope you have a great time!

| I know the petzlife doesn't have a bad taste, cause I tried it! Yea, after Adonis had this horrible look on his face, I sprayed some in my hand and tasted it, couldn't taste anything, then sprayed some in my mouth. Wasn't bad, really. Not going to give my babies nothing I wouldn't do to myself! Who knows, may try cowboy magic on my hair next week, lol. It might just be a phase, I don't know. But you do take good care of them, thats the main thing! Might take away the hubby's feeding chore see if that changes anything! |

| My two dogs are totally excited to see me when I first get home from work --but other than that - they don't give me the time of day. But they do go crazy if we ever have company and act like they haven't seen those people for a hundred years. Mine are around me so much, they just totally take me for granted. I really am nothing special -- unless I'm gone for a few hours. But - like your little Muffin - they sure love to curl up with me when they're ready to go to sleep. Yep - they just take us for granted - that's all! Carol Jean |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | Awww....I would feel bad too - I agree that maybe just doing fun stuff may get her to forget the 'other' stuff - I have the opposite problem - my girls only pay attention to their dad if I'm RIGHT there - the rest of the time they're velcro'd to my butt |

| Try hand feeding her. Instead of using a bowl, put the kibble in your hand. My yorkie is a one-person dog. He barely acknowledges the existence of my husband or daughter, but he is my little shadow. I do everything for him, good and bad. I'd definitely take over the feeding. Good luck. |
