Could my little guy be overweight? Whe I got him he was 16 weeks at 1.6oz. Everyone said he would be around 4 pounds. He's now 7 pounds. He doesn't SEEM overweight. I'm worried now. I never realized that he weighed that much until I put him on the scale today.

Can you feel his ribs when you rub on him? I heard if you cannot feel their ribs than they are fat.

When we got Piper at 13 weeks she weighed 1.3 lbs. The breeder said she's be around 4 lbs full grown. She is 8 months & weighs 6.3 lbs. I call her my little piggy.

| I don't think the "feel their ribs" thing is true! Really! Mojo is 5.4lbs and healthy. Vet said that he isn't over weight nor under weight. From his parents, I believe was to be between 4-5lbs (can't really remember). Sometimes being "overweight" can cause health issues, so I would just ask your vet for a check up and tell them about your concerns. I honestly wouldn't worry about it unless you notice something unhealthy.

My girl Cozy was about 7 pounds when I got her from the breeder at 4 months. She is not show quality +10 pounds presently at 7 months. The vet thinks she should weight more and maybe slightly underweight. But she eats everything I feed her plus some. I very much so doubt your baby if fat.
