| Cat & yorkie pups I want to get a new female puppy. I have a male yorkie that is 2 years(fixed) old and a 2 year old female cat(fixed)(declawed on front). These two get along great. They are best friends. I got them within 2 weeks of each other. I was wondering if anyone has had this experience and if they will have a hard time accepting a female yorkie puppy? Also, someone told me that cats will sometimes try and harm newborn puppies. Has anyone had any problems with this?Any information on this would be greatly appreciated.

| I have 3 Siamese cats and a new littler of puppies . I never had a problem with them around the puppies . One of my cats was there before I had my first Yorkie and she never was aggressive with the new pup . |

| I had my 9 month old ragamuffin before I got my 8 week yorkie. At first I watched them when they were together all the time, the cat was quite a bit bigger than the puppy, after a while the puppy would get kind of wild with the cat and after 4 weeks together they play really well together. I am so relieved. Tammy |

| I already had 4 cats when I brought 8 week old Gracie home. It took a month or so for them to figure each other out. There was never any hissing, spitting or anything out of the cats, just an intense curiosity. Now they are all good friends.

| in my house it is great! Me-Kitty was very curious about Hope cuz she was so small... he is way bigger than her so he knows she wont hurt him... Me-kitty plays until he is tired of her then just jumps up high and all is good... d

| I have three cats and they were all a bit scared of Bella when I brought her home (she was oh-so-tiny!) but for the most part, they just stayed aways from her. One of the bolder cats, Whisper, would go up and sniff at her but that's about it. Bella would mess with them a little, but the cats that didn't want her to would hiss, and she would leave them alone. She plays really well with one of our younger cats, and the middle one tolerates her and she, he. Like someone else said, when the cats don't want to be around her, they go high. |

| Ha Ha. When I told a friend who has two dogs that I was bringing home Gracie to a house with four cats, she said: "Don't worry. Your cats will learn to live up". Such a true statement that was! Cat's can always jump up on something to get away from the dog if they need or want to.
