| Is she pure Yorkie? I am so bothered right now! We bought Charlotte in April from a breeder in OK. Now that she is growing up she is not looking like pure yorkie. I am totally fine with it because I love her so much, no matter what she is! I am very mad that we paid so much money for her and I think she may be a hybrid. I got to thinking and I never recieved her AKC papers...strange things happened when we bought her that are just now hitting me. I am so mad that their are people like this out there! Should I investigate this and possibly report this lady or just let it go? Please help!! |

| I'd definitely contact the breeder and ask about the papers. Not sure what I'd do beyond that. Hope you did not pay toooo much. |

| What is it about her that makes you think she is not purebred? they go through a lot of changes in their first year, and each of them does it in their own way. There are a variety of coat textures and colors and a huge range of sizes. there are floppy ears and perky ears, long noses and short noses. If you post a picture we might be able to tell you more. There are a lot of good breeders on here that know a yorkie when they see one. |

| Can I ask a question? Please dont think I am bashing--I am not by any means. I am a very trusting person, but I am just wondering why you would buy a Yorkie or any pure breed without getting the papers when you purchased. There are just so many bad breeders out there, who would scam people that we need to make sure that everyone understands that they need to be able to see the parents and get the papers when they buy. Or if papers are on the way, get a copy of the parents papers to make sure they are AKC and a copy of where they have sent in to get papers. I am a breeder and I apply for their papers when they are 2 weeks old. That gives AKC plenty of time to get them to you. I just hate it when people get scammed and it make such a bad name for breeders. I definately would report them if they do not send the papers. Hope that helps and I am glad to hear that you dont care if she is purebreed that you love her just the same, but I agree that you paid for a purebreed you need to either get the papers or some of your money back.

I think people fall in love with the thought that it's a Yorkie. Any potential buyer needs to do alot of research before they go and spend all that money, you need to know what you are buying. Did you see the parents? If the mom is not on site, then that is a BIG RED flag! How many times did you meet with this breeder? Do you have any photos you can share? | |

| Yes, you should get papers when you buy a puppy but I no longer use AKC for the reason of them losing my puppy papers and I've had to sell 3 different litters (different years) without their papers and mail the papers later. I lost sales because of it. I also mailed the application in when the pups were 2 wks old and at 12 wks still didn't have papers. There is always an exception. I totally understood the people that didn't buy my puppies because I didn't have their papers. I wouldn't have bought them either. I hope everything works out for you. I'd love to see a picture of your pup.

| Thanks for the responds. I was a bit worried for a while if Char was purebred or not because of some looks she was going through...but now I just dont even worry about it because Im to the point that I dont care. But, I did not do any investigating on this breeder...my husband found her and like most men, they dont care about the investigating and met this lady and surprised me with her. I didnt think about papers at the time because we do not register the papers...but when she came out of her "puppy" phase is when I got to thinking of the things this lady did that did not add up. And the breeder has yet to contact me or send any AKC papers. I wish I could report things like this, but I have decided to let it go and enjoy my time with my babies!! She is the blonde baby on my avatar...Im still having problems donloading pics!!! |
