How can I fatten my pookus? Oh my gosh ladies... I recently had to have my sammy shaved.. due to matting ----> due to neutering ( I didnt want to brush him for a few & cause him more discomfort) ( I screwed up) Anyways... Sam looks so funny a tad bit ugly & skinny.. how can I fatten him up.. what foods can I give him to keep him from looking like a siamese cat LOL!!!!

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | So Sammy got a buzzcut ? Poor baby - but aside from the visual - I bet it feels good ! OK - I have a few thoughts that may help cause I remember Chanels botched grooming job very well... 1st - Try not to laugh hysterically at him when he walks by or is playing 2nd - Put a shirt on him so he doesn't feel naked 3rd - Tell him everyday that he is the best looking yorkie around and the shaved look is sexy - Look at The Rock...Charles Barkley...Kojac... They ALL look skinny when they get a shave ...lol..Mine looked like Sampson the Lion It'll grow !! but in the meantime you have a fresh start to growing his coat back and just try to brush the short coat as if it's a long coat that way you won't have any more knots to deal with - I know lots of yorkies after surgery have the same problem with matting - chances are it won't get that bad again ...I would LOVE to see a pic of him but don't want to embarrass him on the internet ! |

you could feed him puppy food if you want him to gain weight, but all yorkies are skinny looking when they dont have long hair...... make sure he really needs to gain weight (talk to youre vet) before you try to

I hope Sammy doesn't feel bad over his haircut! I think the idea of putting a shirt on him would help both you and him. Maddie also got matted after being spayed when I didn't want to bother her with brushing and then she wore a onesie, which made her mat under the arms and around the neck. I noticed them in time to be able to work them out. Sammy's hair will grow...and you will get more used to seeing him with his new cut. It can be a shock when they go from shaggy to short. Kisses to little Sammy...bet he smells so sweet!

I had to read this to find out what your pookus was. At first, I by-passed it cause I was po'd that someone would come on here and actually want to know how to put weight on her pookus, tookis, tushy or whatever. See, where I am going with this? I finally bit the bullet and read the post. Please follow Villette's suggestions even if you have to bite your lip-DO NOT LAUGH HYSTERICALLY AT THAT POOR BABY! Also, please remove all mirrors that would allow him to follow his progress back into Hairdom (or lack thereof). By the time the heat of summer gets here, he will have a full winter coat of hair..

This site has made me a believer in that Natural Balance dog food roll! My Sabrina is the pickiest eater in the world - maxed out at 4.8 pounds - when she's eating "good". That means me cooking for her - fish, roast, ham, and her staple - pupperoni. I got the little rolls of the Natural Balance beef - been using it for about 8 days now - she BEGS for it. She paws her plate. She dances around me when I'm slicing it up. She barks when I open the frig to get it out. 10 years with this little skinny bitty dog - and she has NEVER begged for anything.
