Donating YT 14K Club Member | ? about Inconsistency in YOUNG yorkie I have a question....had a phone call just a few minutes ago...a fellow yorkie owner. Her yorkie is going on 2 years old. This yorkie constantly pees while on Karen. She's done this since they brought her home as a pup. She's on some meds the vet gave her (I forget what it's called). She doesn't do it while she's sleeping with them at night or even on Karen's husband. She's been tested for urinary tract infection and kidney stones...nothing. Karen says that Kloe acts like her old dog (pom) that has inconsistency problems. I've never heard of yorkies having a condition that causes them to urinate. Also, after she leaves a puddle on Karen, she'll go outside and pee, too. She isn't sleeping while she does this...she could just be sitting on Karen's lap.

| Is she upset w/ her Karen for any reason? If it's not a urinary problem and she doesn't do it when shes sleeping, and still goes outside and on no one else, to me it sounds like she's doing it intentionally. I really don't have any advice, but I hope they get the yorkie to stop doing this.

| Never bumped into that kind of problem before where only one person is peed on like that. Is the Yorkie spayed and is the Pom still with them or has it passed on? Possible maybe the dog for some reason is nervous with your friend and it is a submissive urination. Does she put her out to potty before picking her up on her lap? Might help. |

I have a friend that had an old Yorkie. The last year or two of the old Yorkies life, she had adopted an older rescue about 7 years old. This girl had to start fromt he beginning as she had just been used as a breeder to make puppies before my friend got her out of there. She did really well with potty training except she would pee on the bed that she struggled with that behaviour even though the rest of it was fine. After the old Yorkie died, the rescue no longer pees on the bed. Now my friend wonders if the old dog likely dribbled a little, not enough to be noticable but enough to scent and the rescue was just covering that scent. Spayed bitches will still have some of the instincts, some moreso than others. I have no other idea why she would be doing this just with the one person unless your friend has some sort of scent on her that is triggering it. | |
